5 Star Website Update

So this is 5 Star's current website. It's atrocious and we all know it. So I'm starting this thread to bounce some ideas, so 5 Star can hopefully look into improving it in the near future.

It currently looks like an incomplete "create your first website" high school project in the 90s. Here are some of my thoughts on what a perfect punting shop website should be like:

- Must have a clean, uncluttered layout
- No unnecessary fancy graphics
- Must contain the essential details (e.g. address, map, contact, images of girls, a few images of premise, in-built roster, transparent pricing)

No BS, no fancy bells and whistles, straight to the point, exactly what we need.

A few comments on other popular websites:

- Ginza is ok, I'd rate it 7/10 - the over 18 prompt is a bit annoying, no in-built roster, unnecessary scrolling/clicking for the images of girls.
- Sussex Star is an example of a website that is trying to be too discrete - there's no transparency at all, no roster, no girls, it's as if they make it out to a legit massage shop
- Summerville is ok, I'd rate it 8/10 - not as clean as 227 Broadway, but does the job for the most part
- Peninsular Paradise is ok, I'd rate it 8/10 - the over 18 prompt is a bit annoying, the single page format with option to jump to different sections gives a modern feel and is not too bad

Please use this thread as an opportunity to voice some of your opinions on what you would like in the updated 5 Star website. Or just share some of your thoughts on existing websites of stores.

As far as I know $300 above so make sure you have about 250-350 varying 30mins-60mins.

Like the shop has mentioned, walk in , choose what you like. But don't expect any to go under $250 lol

Not just the website is awful, their rooster is awful to read, Can't you just copy the GINZA rooster format and update it every night? Also add prices next to girl names.

No need to post girl photo on the rooster page, best to post the girls photo on your website, if you can't to that, you can start a new thread to post all the girls names, photos, details and prices.

Just a suggestion, I think it will help punters and your business alot.

BTW, I heard a fellow punter say 5 star also got an apartment in CBD?? It would be alot easier to get to compared to Wollongong, can anyone confirm?

Nope, I don't expect anyone to go out without makeup, but they certainty don't "cake it on" (put very thick layers on) like a lot of WL/ML's do. I'm wondering whether the girls at 5 star put very thick layers on or if there are any that are light on makeup. The reason I'm asking is because I'm told that a lot of koreans in particular don't like to be recognised so they hide it through thick makeup, which is understandable, but slightly off-putting in my opinion.

Keeping a good roster straight would be a giant pain the arse especially for places with girls that aren't always regular with shifts. But it's not going to be that hard to do. Just takes effort. At the very least the pictures/names of the girls should be kept up to date at least monthly.

If a shop keeps advertising on Wechat with revealing photos, it won't take long for Wechat to block it, that's why some shops keep changing wechat ID !

A "coming X days" roster would be a pain, but listing who is currently available is quite easy as they are in house right now.

Create profiles for girls. Have girls "login" when they come to the shop. You now know who is available. Stipulate in their agreement that if they are working they will be logged in so the site is updated and stays fresh. Simple stuff. This could then be automated to give info like new girls, girls who have worked this week and some sort of "current roster" using girls that have been online in the past X days/weeks.

The only ongoing effort would be creating profiles which should be minimal.

While punters like the idea of rosters I imagine shops are not so keen. A similar concept as cracker "privates" using fake pictures applies. They use fake pictures to get guys in the door and quite a few stay. If every guy walked when they opened the door they would either stop doing it or drop prices. In a shop environment they better serve their, and their girls interests by being vague about availability and getting guys in the door, the majority of whom will stay. In comparison to checking a website calling the shop is much more involved and you need to have an existing relationship with the shop in order to ask if girlA is available. If you have a number of super popular girls who are in high demand and a batch of less popular girls then the more popular girls get potential customers in the door who then "settle" for or try someone else if the girl they are after is not available, the same way fake photos work.

This is shown by the 5 star poster in this thread stressing the importance of coming down to check out what is available. There is nothing wrong with this behavior because overall it is better for them and their girls.

What are the downsides of not having a roster? Perhaps some well informed, picky guys don't turn up? Who cares.

On top of this escorts in general seem unreliable, if shops have rosters and they are not spot on there will be complaints. Would you put your shops reputation on the line for these girls? "I booked girlA two days ago because the roster said she was going to be here!" Well bad luck she decided to go shopping?

Having said all that the five star site is horrible and the shop would be better served with a single page location/contact/services/prices type site over the abortion they currently have. Agree with you there rojandro919. Website rosters are generally outdated and the pics are prob of old WL or ML. Remembering to clear browser history is always issue. Keep forgetting to open in ingonito lol

Mr Jones seems to be the go-to guy for this, but in my limited experience, you would need to:

Use your content management system (CMS) to create a link from your web site to the AR on this forum.

A CMS is the software you use to create and manage digital content (i.e. a web site). If you have a web site, you must be using a CMS of some sort to produce it. Your web designer -- if you have one -- should know how to do it.

Having a profile of your girls with their vital stats (age, nationality, measurements, specialties, etc,) and a link to any ARs about their service would be a great improvement on the rubbish you currently serve up as a web site.

At the moment, IMHO, the Ginza web site (http://www.ginzaclub.com.au/) is the best of a very bad bunch.

For what it's worth 5 Star, I work in corporate communications with fancy (and expensive) web designers all the time. I can say that what hungwell11 has suggested here is blue chip standard. You should get him in for the day, do the new web site, learn how to make updates on its content management system, and you're away.

If you're really going to go ahead with a web site revamp, please don't do a quick fix-it job. Let hungwell11 show you how it's done and your new web site will be the gift that keeps on giving -- to you, and to all of us.

Here is an example of how to go about this in a non-from scratch manner in order to avoid all the work(and pitfalls) involved there. This is provided profiles are kept up to date etc.

1. Wordpress. Why? Lots of themes/layouts available and because it is the largest platform it is relatively easy to find someone to work on it.

2. A theme from a reputable seller. This will run up to $100. So nothing. Will your site be unique? No. But it doesn't matter and more importantly it will look good and be quick to get up and running. It will be unique in your niche.

3. Type of theme. A straight up blog theme is not going to work here without lots of work, and in truth an ecommerce setup is more what you are after (girls = products, not blog posts).

Selling cars is a similar concept to selling girls. Each item is "unique" and requires a new listing. While a girl is working she can be "for sale". When she is no longer working she can be "sold" and no longer appear "in stock". 4. Obviously colours, fonts, etc need work and even the style might not be suitable. The site itself is not really the problem as rojandro919 said, keeping it up to date is the challenge. Doing photos on the cheap with phones and crap lighting detracts immensely from how "good" a site looks.

A quick update on where things are at – tweaked the design a little bit.

1. All done on Wordpress, the largest and most popular CMS platform. Very easy to update, does not require technical knowledge. As Speechwriter suggested, if you're interested I can come in for a day and take you through the simple process of how to update.

2. The theme I have chosen is a free theme from Wordpress and as far as I’m aware, has not been used before in the industry so it will definitely be unique. Simple and effective is what I was aiming for with this design and so far, I think it paints a picture of an industry-leading shop, which aligns with 5 Star’s quality.

Very nice clean and simple layout hungwell. But I think make the splash image at the top cleaner and clearer too. The black banding is annoying, looks like a television screen that has f**ked uo, or like trying to look at something through flyscreen mesh.

Yes, the original website is pretty daggy , but it does have a cute, daggy homespun chinese charm. :D

So in your example, where the girl pulls out on Friday morning for her Friday 2pm start, 5 Star updates its web site and the new info is published within seconds.

Because it takes a human being to sit in front of a computer to make the changes. It's labour intensive.

That person needs to know what they're doing (not difficult) and they need to be compensated for their efforts (sometimes not what the shops want to do).

This is the main reason why the web sites of most shops are so shit. They just don't want to pay for quality.

And who would blame them when there businesses flourish anyway?

On another topic, shops that use wechat often update 3x daily, and that is essentially real time - and easier to read on a phone than a full website

Minor detail - it would be good to mention on the website to note that there is back entrance available and to call X number to access it.

Only just found that out over the weekend. Would have been nice to know given that there was a bit more foot traffic out the front and footpath drinkers at the pub opposite because of Mardi Gras.
