Very true. Most RNT shop owners are savvy and have little difficulty in relocating their businesses. In the case of SS, it would be a loss for Nana (and if so, for her business partner) to move out after investing a lot into this shop. It has one of the best facilities when comparing it with other RNT shops in the CBD.

So what is the justification behind the complaints?
1) Is it the proximity of Sussex Star to the school? If so, why is this even an issue? The shop is very discreet, both outside and inside so the only way school kids would know that it provides sex services is if they found out online. And if they did found out online, school kids can easily make their way to the shop, regardless of where it is located.
2) Is it the exploiting of overseas workers via human trafficking? Does the government have sufficient proof to make the case or are they just making broad-brush assumptions based on the industry as a whole? In order for the government to obtain sufficient proof, they would need to do investigations on a case-by-case basis, which is just not practical.
I'm a bit confused as to what type of outcome the complainers are hoping for. The sex industry is never going to stop entirely - demand will always be there because sex is a human need and there will always be WL's who are willing to provide the service, just like any other value-adding occupation that caters to human needs and wants.

I'm not getting why would SS be the main target for investigation? Wouldn't they have more suspicion towards DOS if they get their info here? I don't have a grudge towards DOS of course, but just genuinely curious at the logic behind this investigation directed at SS.

I'd say it's due to it's proximity to a school. It makes it an easy target.
Hope I'm wrong but if the school parents get involved and make a big fuss and put pressure on the council then it's game over.

Thats right, all you are missing the point.
This guys isnt against legal brothels, just the illegal ones.
There are brothels, massage parlours and private agencies.
Then there are the make shift cheap quick relief joint that scour the town near residential, schools, and churches, that gives everyone a bad name.
You see all these massage places piping up left right and center, exactly like unregulated wall st.
The good point you'll think is that punters has lots of options for cheaper prices, but reality its a bad outcome for all.
For example,
Because of these massage places that offer extra services, punters and ordinary people all see these massages legit and illegit as alll the same.
1. It gives, REAL massage therapist a bad name,
i walk into to a legit Thai massage and, i'm sometimes told straight up its a legit place, and i'm like yeah... i know
2. It causes unruly punters to seek extra services in a legit places,
3. Takes WL from legal brothels to work in the cheaper and faster money for cash.
Places like the advertisers here says, 5 star, ginza, or 5 marrickville, all have out going cost in that,
they hire manager, they wash towel, water fee for continous showers, health check for girls etc etc
wheres as these cheap makeshift massage places, the only cost out going for them is paper towel over the table and wet wipes and lotions!.
So we are not getting much more, only that they can close and open quickly when they want, have little out going, then reduce the "extras fee" just under the standard market price.
The market is mutating into a quick relief, make shift massage places that caters for ALL services and this is becoming out of control.

Ok thanks for the explanation bro. I get it now although I'm not sure if that's true. It's not like SS is right next door to a school. I never see school kids nearby whenver I go there. I may be wrong. It's close to several residential buildings though and a gym if that matters
However after reading poster Mitch's take, I can kinda see why they want to stop the over expansion of these shops.

When you coming down Druitt street as you turn into Sussex there is a school or office that belongs to St. Andrews on the corner. There is even poster behind the glass.
It's a big and rich private school and I'd say a lot of influence.

The City of Sydney council confirmed it had received complaints about the premises including one alleged incident involving a genuine female student who was confronted by a man outside the massage parlour and questioned about what days she worked.
When asked why numerous men had been posting online reviews about sex services at his parlour as recently as last month, he said: "They're just forums. They're probably making it up."
Less than a fortnight ago, several reviewers on the biggest Asian sex website in Australia labelled the business the "go-to shop" for sex-related services in Sydney.

The iissue is that the sensationalism that Mr Duff writes about does get attention and read in our newspapers. Whether you're a punter or not, the sensational headlines makes you read the article so in effect that Mr Duff has done his job bringing traffic to a news site (given they can't sell physical newspapers anymore).
I suspect once again, this story will be 'hot' for a couple of days or a week and it will move on. I question whether Mr Duff is even interested in what he is writing about or just gaining an audience like most journalists these days?

I think Mr Duff should focus on the scores of homeless and beggars (legit or otherwise) all over the streets of Sydney. You can't walk a block without seeing one and on some busy blocks, you have to avoid walking over them.
Now that would be a civil service cause that Mr Duff should sensationalise especially in the cold of winter.

Ok, had some time to gather my thoughts
At the end of the day, Eamon Duff is just a third rate journalist who rather than going after the things that matter, keeps focusing on this because he knows sex sells. Even by doing so, it actually damages the school's reputation and damages the school kids who were previously obliviously focused on their schoolwork, but are now caught up in a sex scandal!
Now I've never actually been to SS, so can't say what goes on there, but if they are in violation of the legal code, they can - and should- simply relocate to a more suitable position. The owner will be fine long term because it was such a popular shop in the first place. It may be inconvenient but it will keep everyone happy.

1. Granted The last time I visited was last December. I Must be going at weird times cuz I never encountered any students when I'm at the area lol
2. Seems to me like parents and council not letting this go so the reporter is still going after this story.
3. curious who this Vincent chan guy is. Does he post here too
4. Kinda strange how the article is publishing those ads with description and pics. I mean these are just shown on this website and WeChat if I'm not wrong. Students are not actively coming here to find out which I guess the parents are worried about. but he has pretty much shown it to the wider public now and making situation even worse. Dumb
The pics were all over backpage and Cracker ads. In hindsight not a great move.

Some of you are missing the point here. The issue is not school kids finding out about the shop and visiting. It's the type of customers it attracts that can potentially come into contact with school kids.
If what the article says is true and some customer asked a school girl what days she is working then it's really inexcusable. Not the shop's fault but some creepy customer who doesn't know where to draw the line. Nice work if you are reading this.

It may be inconvenient but it will keep everyone happy.

wish to stay anonymous even though this is the most anonymous site - was at SS for my weekly massage but was stopped by immigrations and a few plainclothes police (may be ) or they could be council workers , just a warning to all brothers , i could feel the heat in the shop

Kinda funny that Council would have approved this DA knowing a school was so close. It's "only a massage shop" I know, but surely by now council would be aware of what goes on inside them.
With our current legal system, I guess councils can't pre-empt what might happen (and reject the application on that basis) as long as it meets all the other standards for this type of business.
The majority of children would be in the area in the half hours before/after school times; I think they are allowed out at lunch time as I often see them around the streets then, but a small number seem to come and go all day for various reasons.

Yes guys stop giving info away. This includes on PM.
Listen to the latest horse$&@/ from ED (note ED stands for both Eamon Duff and Erectile Dysfunction)
One of the main reasons he opposes SS is because they have girls in school uniforms! He's basically saying that SS customers are child molesters who are lurking around the school in trench coats! I think the SS customers on here should be pretty offended!
Mate, 'schoolgirl ' fantasies is just a fun thing and refers to young ladies of about 18yo, which is actually the preferred age for most men (I personally prefer a bit older but I'm talking in general). And the SS customers are not 'creeps' you want to keep well away from schools cause they're jumping out of their skins to assault young ladies.
The guy really pisses me off.:fire:

It's quite telling how out of touch he is with mainstream society. If you read the comments from readers at the end of the article, the overwhelming majority are of the opinion this is a total beat up.
As a few SMH readers pointed out, you're only one mouse click away from hardcore porn. Another comments that there are more assaults outside pubs and clubs so perhaps all venues serving alcohol should be closed.
It's only ED, the school headmaster and some blinkered parents who appear to have an issue. Joe public couldn't give a toss!

To be honest Doubt it's gonna go away by just completely not talking about the shop. I mean I'm happy with treating the shop as non existent from this day on but I seriously doubt the case is going away as long as the school is there from the looks of it. Not talking about the shop is also gonna hurt business. I may be wrong but I think The ads and reviews will have to come back at some point. And my feeling is council will then pounce again. My 2 cents

Ah it all makes sense now. Travelling to Sydney in a few weeks and noticed SS was a bit quiet on the advertising. Such a shame as it was a good shop I used to frequent when I lived there.

There probably will be no more ads from SS for a while but nothing stopping all the regulars and faithful to continue supporting and let's not forget they do get walk ins.
Good luck to us all on the punting side of things !
Cheers
