Just wondering if there's a word out when the govt would allow the shops to open? If not, what do you guys think they would do so? Would be nice to know the timeline. Tbh, really missing Ginza .. mostly cuz I can't afford the outcalls.

I’m so surprised that more RNTs haven’t reopened under the remedial massage guise. I guess they’re too scared about getting raided and busted. Wouldn’t be easy to pick a cop from a punter. Fuck half the cops probably are lol

Here are the generous odds I published on another thread in early May for when brothels will re-open:
May 500/1
June 12/1
July 5/1
August 10/1
September 20/1
October 50/1
November 100/1
December 200/1
2021+ 100/1
August at 10/1 is bloody good odds. Get in quick and have a bet.

Yeah, I am seeing shops starting to advertise it. I think this lobby group put together by brothels will also put pressure on the government to fast track their reopening sooner rather than later as well. The government is keen to get everything back up and running.

Spoke to a ML shop owner and said she will open when stage 3 eases. Not because of law but she has to pay rent. Not enough customers will be coming in to cover rent. I would imagine most ML shops will be like that

Hey I really can’t find any clarification that massage parlours are allowed to open or not in NSW from June 1
I have heard from a couple of my regular shops and they say they will be opening
Will they be breaking the rules or not?

Yeap, it’s worth a try :
Healthcare
Healthcare products and services
If you need health care, call ahead if you have any symptoms or are feeling unwell.
You can also access healthcare products and services from health care providers such as a
chemist
doctor
hospital or medical centre
physiotherapist
remedial or therapeutic massage service provider.

Assuming opening the shop as normal which would infer an incall type situation. Officially the are an establishment offering "Traditional Chinese Therapy" which is a loose term in this geo-sexual environment.

How are you guys reading massage parlours are open? All it says is 10ppl with 4 sq metres just like most small retail stores.
Open only for sale of goods and gift vouchers. Doesn't state goods and services.
I thought they could do that already? It sounds to me like they can conduct business as usual with limits on how many people can be in the shop.

Massage parlours are open for usual business from june 13 with nore more than 10 customers on the premises at once, simple as that, that is the only restriction. Brothels not yet, massage parlours have been able to open but only to sell products or if they had a remedial massage certificate.

The gazettal is effectively the law - it's what is referred to if there is a dispute in a fine or court hearing. A media stop by a politician doesn't make a new regulation or law.
If you really want to play it safe, wait until you see the updates gazetted in parliament.
Having said that, it must be really hard for all the enforcement officers (police and council and health inspectors) to keep up with the changing regulatory environment, so there's a good change mistakes will be made and they are probably aware of this, so are probably being very careful and allowing plenty of lee-way in enforcement. But if it's flagrant or likely to draw attention they will almost certainly act.
This is why the risk in a massage shop is low - mostly just a handful of workers and customers who don't hang around - nothing to be worried about from a mass infection perspective... - even if that massage shop strictly shouldn't be operating right now. There's enough confusion about what is allowed to be open and what isn't, why would anyone even bother with the potential hassle of getting an enforcement action wrong? - when the risk of harm is so low.
A ML who I know well returned to work this week, hasn't had it so good for years - 7+ jobs / day, plenty of tips and she's the only girl in the shop!

Good news RE: Massage parlours opening back up on 13th June. I notice that some of my favourite places have started to advertise. The ladies must certainly be very excited.

There's not much point in having COVIDsafe installed unless the WL/ ML brings her phone into the room with you... you'd probably have much greater chance of the app linking up with your neighbouring punter than the girls themselves... so there's some benefits without the same risks... at least your contact tracing will match another bloke not a girl! - much easier to explain if necessary!

You wouldn’t know who the other person was or where you came into contact with them. All you would know is you came in contact.
Obviously if case numbers are low and details about that person was made public then there might be an issue.

I wonder If I gave false name and ph number to the massage parlours, would they really care and check my ID etc before letting me in?
Even if name and contact numbers are asked for, all shops need to do is write what you tell them. They’re not obliged to verify it.

It is looking more and more like the prevalence of the virus in the community is getting close to zero.
It's stating the obvious but can't you catch a virus from someone if they don't actually have it.
You can both lick each other from head to toe and you will be fine.
The early implementation of the ban on tourists/students etc entering Australia stopped the virus from entering the country on a large scale.
And the small amount of carriers that did enter Australia didn't get a chance to spread it because of the lockdown, social distancing etc.
So now we are at a stage where the amount of people in the community with the virus is close to zero.
Given this reality it is hard to justify keeping businesses closed, destroying peoples livelihoods, and plunging the country into recession for much longer.
That's why we have seen an acceleration in lots of bans being lifted on various businesses in the last couple of weeks.
Brothels will be one of the last bans to be lifted but even so it looks more and more like bans will be lifted in the next month.
So I reckon before the end of July brothels will be back.
As long as bans on people entering the country remain or at least there is a compulsory police enforced 14 day quarantine on anyone entering the country we can pretty much get on with our lives.
The virus just simply is not out there in significant numbers, and it is getting less and less every day.

I suspect you may well be right Rooter as to the time frame.
Of course it is critical to them staying open that we make sure this virus is dead-as-a-dodo in Oz.

almost all recent NSW new cases were people coming in from overseas ( also 1 interstate, 2 unknown as yet). there hasn't been a single known case of local transmission for 6 days in a state with population 7.5 million. i support the government being somewhat cautious but the risk of infection for an individual at this point is negligible.

What a much better place society has been with all the casinos (cathedrals of false hope), gyms (monuments of narcissism), brothels (shrines of sexual immaturity), places of worship (ignorance and narrowmindedness in bricks and mortar), bars and cafes (temples of pretentiousness) etc closed.
So much more civilised.
These have been the best 2 months in the history of Australia.
