What's the strategy with gogo bars?

What's the strategy with the Gogo bars? I was in thailand last year, I'm going again this year and wanted to ask some of you thailand veterans.

It seemed to me like it was normal to take a gogo bar girl back with you, but is this only in bkk/pattaya? I was in phuket and ao nang, and both times girls agreed to come back with me but they always wanted to leave after the bar closes. Is that normal? I was with a few mates and we love to party and always ended up having too much fun, getting smashed and stumbling home before the night was over lol.

I know the obvious answer is don't drink so much but it's hard when your having fun and playing drinking games. There was never any mention of a "bar fine" and being able to leave right away, only "yes I'll come with you after we close 😊".

These experiences were on bangla Rd, and in ao nang I cant remember the name but it's some street with a bunch of bars at the end of it.

I'm sure people with more Th experience than me can chip in.

The girls I took home near Sukhimvit came home with me at the time of my choosing. I negotiated overnight prior to paying.

The girl I had in Chiang Mai was from a smaller back street bar. We played pool and I went home after exchanging numbers. Of course at midnight she texts having had no better offer I assume. Bar fine was $20 + tip to girl.

My experience for you is to decide on your focus. Maybe you are better to go to massage joints during the day. This frees you to enjoy your night partying without taking a girl home.

Thai girls are the friendliest around. Just ask what you want and see what happens. There is no 'national' rule that says girls have to wait until the end of shift. money talks.

Another obvious thing is if you are already half-cut drunk and are negotiating bargirls, you will overpay.

Anther idea might be a dating site like Thai friendly. say you are looking to hook up with a girl to stay and party with you. Just be upfront on what you want. I like this idea, then you will have a girl to fuck and to go party with.

The bar manager always wants a few pretty girls left in the bar to attract new customers. If the manager has plenty of girls they will encourage the girls to go out for ST as the bar makes 500 baht. Opposite might be true if there are only 1 or 2 girls left. Some of the best punting I have had in Thailand is in low season. Lots of girls and not many punters. Just have to put up with more rain and heat. Final tip: work out where the locals punt. It's heaps more effort but high quality girls and local prices

Thanks mate will keep that in mind, going for NYE to pattaya for my first time so that will be fun. Do you have any tips on local spots around bkk/pattaya? Haven't been to either of these cities yet so don't know much.

No worries Lazyninjaturtle. You will be there in high season but that gets you the best weather. The locals I know don't go to the gogo bars we Farang frequent. They tend to go to Karaoke or Soapies. Easy way to find a soapy that locals frequent is use Google maps. Search for places more than 2 km from the tourist hotspots. This deters most tourists. Then search reviews on the place and look for reviews in Thai and translate. If there are not many English reviews, you have a local joint. It's a higher risk strategy and some places will be shit. But when you strike gold, it's worth the effort
