Hey bros. I'm going to BKK for the first time ever. Not even sure if I want to punt there but I'm certainly open to ideas. I'm more of a RnT guy here in Sydney, so what would you recommend for a relatively safe first time punting experience in BKK? Or I also like the idea of picking up a local girl but have no idea how to go about that!

There are multiple threads on Bangkok/Thailand already. If you have some time I'd recommend you go to Pattaya if you can for a couple days, rather than Bangkok. It's about 2 hours drive by private car (recommend nams taxi lady drivers, they are excellent).
Pattaya has many massage places but be careful, you are better off going to the more established registered soapy massage places as the girls are mandatory STD tested. The smaller ones no such luck. Most of the agogos in treetown have STD testing, I'd question some of the bars in soi 6 though.
If it has to be Bangkok then Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy are best bets. They are more bars/agogos than RnTs. You will have to pay for lady drinks (about $10 per drink) and then a bar fine (anywhere from $50-$100) then for the price with the girl (prices ranging from $100 short time to $200+ long time).
Else freelancers are possible, download Thai friendly as that is your best bet.
If you are a RnT guy then I would suggest massage shops of which the are many. In Bangkok, close to Soi Cowboy, there are many RnT shops on Sukhumvit Soi 23 and Sukhumvit Soi 22. All MLs provide economical hand jobs. Many shops with a private room give full service. PrEP is recommended if BBFS or Anal. Tell the girl what you want (and try to stick to it).
While the go go bars are great in both Bangkok and Pattaya, they are all short time full service. Some girls are just in it for the drinks with no bar fine or outside work. Just ask them before you buy them a $12 drink.
Most music and entertainment places have freelance working ladies who are more flexible. There is no bar fine. Many of them hold regular jobs.
Picking up a GOOD “local” girl is not easy. I think street girls are dangerous. Thai Friendly might be the go. I’ve not used it. Maybe it’s not the short trip Go To.
Pattaya is a buyers market at the moment. High season hasn’t hit there yet. They are currently a bit desperate. Many bars have rooms upstairs for a quickie.
Thailand is terrific. If this is your first trip, you need to see as much as you can. Bars in Patpong. Bars outside of Nana Plaza, and go-go bars in Nana Plaza (top floor), Thermae Bar on Sukhumvit and Soi Cowboy (Shark Bar, Dollhouse, Long Gun and others).
Use the BTS rail line.
It won’t be your last trip.
The Sky Bar in State Tower Lebua Hotel is terrific but expensive . On the 62 floor. Visit some temples, Take legit pictures to show the people here .
Mate, if you are in Bangkok for 3 nights, and if one of these nights falls on Wed,Thu, Fri, Sat, I would spend one night at Cowboy, and second one at Nana Plaza. Nana plaza is the biggest complex and the good looking girls tends to get taken early, the do come back after 11pm after the serve their Short time with a customer. I can't remember the name of the gogo bar, but the two on the 3rd floor at Nana is the best, especially the one with spinning stage. The best looking girls can be found there.
Other nights, I would try the soapy massage places, two i recommend is Poseidon and Emmauelle. this can get very expensive though, I paid $550 AUD for a model and got two shots. but damn she was hot and knows how to please a man. Think those hot Girl Next Door Thai influencer... The downside is that she made all the other Thai girls look normal after... haha
Pattaya is really fun but not really a day trip as it takes 2.5 hours each way.
Thermade has really taken a dive, l went there 9 months ago and its mostly ladyboys and older hookers. 4 years ago, it was full of beautiful girls.
Honestly mate. I'm a seasoned visitor and know all the traps too. These days, I just go on Bumble and find dates for free. Occasionally, they ask for taxi money home. Take em to a nice restaurant then back to your hotel.

If you want solid and up to date advice, ISG is the place. Read the most recent 20 PAGES of each pertinent thread, then ask questions. You might also check Stickman (Google is your friend), reading a number of his most recent columns.
Download WeChat then use the “people nearby” function, select female and it’ll bring up everyone and their distance from you.

This. Very few of the Thai girls use Wechat. It's mostly Line and they all are on Facebook and use messenger. I haven't met a single one that uses Wechat

In reality it is easily six experiences that you can have...
Afternoons
You can decide whether you partake of a punt or just the optics.
1. Get a nuru massage, this is a punt experience, and a unique one, many many places.
2. Get a legit massage, picj a cute, young, old, MILF, whatever type, and see if you click enough for them to try to quietly upsell you to a handjob, blowjob, or supposedly job risking sex (nearly always BB as they don't have and can't easily dispose of a condom). My favorites for this are on Soi 8.
3. Get a blowjob at a blowjob bar, Wood, Kasalongs, Lolitas, others, and again this is a punt.
4. Get a soapy massage, best are Soi 22 and Soi 24, again a punt.
5. Sit in one of the bars at the start of Soi 4, aka Soi Nana late afternoon early evening and watch the girls come to work for Nana Plaza or freelance on the street, best location is Stumble Inn or Morning Night. Beware the milfy bargirls there, or even arrange a short time with one of them to clean the pipes for the evening.
Nights...
These can be quite interesting, and again can do double ups easily if you stay out late.
1. Soi Nana, the best of the gogos, third (top) floor is Billboards and Butterflies, quite an experience.
To me tho the prettiest and most playful these days is Rainbow 5 at back right corner of second floor
2. Soi Cowboy, has to be seen, but it is scam central for prices and girls that won't go with you.
Most bars that have stunners out front (coyotes) in pantyhose who are unavailable, are part of the string of half the bars that are owned by the "Arab".
They are pretty drink scam bars, buying two drinks at a time, so should be avoided.

Lastly, ThaiFriendly freelancers, Soi 4 and Soi Sukhumvit freelancers, plus FiwiFans/sideline girls, are also readily available...
These will be Thai, Lao, Khmer, Viet (yes), and African of all persuasions (big bodied and petite), as well as Russian/Slav options too...
