Poplar was doing great in Surry Hills, opens at World Square, again too close to Thaitown, looks like going bust now.

Interesting. 429 Pitt is in Thaitown and is 'apparently' succeeding...yet others are cursed...the gambling thing is real though. I went to Caddy's Place in Ashfield back in the day, then venutured up the hill to Wests Ashfield Leagues for a cleansing ale (natural dessert after a helping of massage and TT) and there is the same Mamasan I had paid ca$h to an hour earlier, putting my hard earned through the pokies. That shop has been tits up for 10 years now.
