Yes a shortage of supply will put upward pressure on prices.
But there could also be a fall in demand which will offset it.

With the prospect of a recession looming ahead, it will be a matter for punters to use their brains and cash wisely rather than go on a reckless spending spree that would benefit WLs if prices are increased.

There is still a huge demand for it and even at times some girls are fully booked.

I don’t think the demand will be huge from day 1 after the restrictions are lifted, some punters will rush into it some may wait and see. Let’s not forget while many people will be saving up during the lockdown so all cashed up, but many people would be unemployed or on jobseeker Jobkeeper benefits and many self employed or business owners are very hard hit, so they may not have too much disposable income to punt that much, many people will also be max out on their credit cards or in heavy debts or in rental/mortgage arrears , things are really tough at the moment!

I’m working 3 days a week at the moment and taking 2 days leave, my other family member has to take 20% pay cut. Life ain’t the same again like it was 3 months ago !!

Punting could be the last things in many people’s mind especially those with families?

I know a ML whos shop is closed, i checked in with her just to say hello and ask how she is going. She said she needs to open soon as rent arrears will wipe her out as landlords still want their money. She said if she was open now she would be very busy as her phone does not stop ringing. Just before shut down she said very quiet, but now if she could open she would be busier than ever. So i think there will be an initial surge with a taper off. Then once the economy gets back unto some semblance of normal it will be business as usual although a little quieter.

I think the best case scenario once restrictions are lifted and massage shops (relaxation) open is that virus cases stay low and restrictions aren't re-tightened.
But shops need to consider an alternative method of operation ... like setting up girls to work individually elsewhere (apartment ... can be rostered to share across the week) or home visits.
Because ... Australia has taken a very conservative stance on this. If virus numbers come up ... then the restrictions may return.
That's also why (in my opinion) it's a good idea to use the CovidSafe app so that tracing of contacts with a positive treated person can be effective as possible.

Lots of punters can't accept home visits.

Apartment blocks don't like the idea of units being used as brothels, esp if there are different girls every day.

I think the apartment depends on the neighbours elderly retired couples with nothing to do would be more inclined to make a complaint, areas where students make the majority doubt they would give two shits about it. It’s always the strata nazi really

Elderly and stay at home parents that are the most nosy.

Brothels will be the last business to re-open, so the best way to get sex work (and sex workers) able to ply their trade again is to beat this virus, really beat it.
It would also make sense for the government to provide support for sex workers while sex work is forbidden so they don't have to choose between working illegally and starving.

It's very naive to think that if sex workers get money from the government they will stop doing sex work.
Sex workers don't want to live on a subsistence income.
They have to earn a lot of money for some of the following reasons.
1. Have to send money overseas to support family or pay debts.
2. Saving up or paying for an apartment back home or in Sydney.
3. Want to live a lavish lifestyle; parties, designer bags and shoes, shopping etc.
4. Owe agents/sponsors/loan sharks a lot of money.
5. Gambling, drug and other addictions.
6. Some or all of the above.

So even if the government gave them $750 per week they will just take it and say "thank you very much" and continue working and earning more. Most money they earn is cash so they don't have to declare it.
It will just be like a tip from Scomo and they don't even have to suck his happy clappy middle aged dick to get it ;)

I am sure some would Rooter, but even today, without any government support, most aren't working.
While there is a risk for a client, the risk for the lady who is seeing all those clients is much higher.
There would not be very many workers who would want to be working right now

There's the obligatory picture of a lineup of current international students and like the dirty old man that I am, all I can think about is the inflow of tasty students hard up for a bit of income on the side. These could well be the propective lovely faces greeting me at the local RNT parlour in the not too distant future.

"Gladys Berejiklian wants to lift border bans on foreign *students in a bid to save *regional universities and towns that rely on the sector for jobs and economic activity.

The Premier has outlined a plan and has been working with all levels of government behind the scenes to transition the current two-week hotel quarantine system to a health checkpoint for international students.
The NSW government estimates foreign students are worth $13.9 billion to the economy and support 95,000 full-time jobs — with the contribution considered even more crucial in the absence of international tourism.

The Premier does not antici*pate the taxpayer would foot the bill for foreign students in the same way they have for returning Australian citizens to be kept in hotel quarantine.
“International students are critical to our economy,” Ms Berejiklian said.

“Regional universities won’t survive unless they can get some of their students back. We are contemplating how we can accelerate that.”
Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt on Wednesday indicated he was open to working with universities on plans to “look at means of bringing back supervised, stringent quarantined international students”.

University of Sydney management student Abhishek Handa, who moved to Sydney from India, said he hopes international students will be given the chance to study in Australia when the restrictions on international travel ease.

It all depends on what they mean by "foreign students"
If they mean genuine students who study Science at UNSW, Business at Sydney Uni, Law at UTS etc then this will have close to zero impact on punting.
Only a tiny percentage of these students work as WLs or MLs. Letting them in will have almost no impact on the sex industry.
But if by "foreign students" they mean professional WLs/MLs, tourists and backpackers who who get a student visa to study a dodgy scam course in English, Child Care, Flower Arranging, Beauty Therapy etc at a dodgy scam "college" just so they can enter Australia and work as a WL/ML, waitress, cleaner etc - then all our prayers have been answered! LOL!
