Currently, very similar to Axeman...

For me started with medical n blood test. Elevated PSA. Referral to Urologist. Off for an MRI. Biopsy and scoring. The off for a PET scan.
Yes its there but not thru the body. The PET scan detect a nother spot, which was also detetcted previously and checked, but it was showing exactly the same as a previous scan 7 years earlier.
off to the surgeon, who will doing things robotically and remove prostate and grab the extra whilst he is in the area.

I have been having PSA tests since a heart condition in my 50's so its been an annual event. this is the second raise, but the first raised only to 5.2 then dropped.... this time 8.2 then 8.8.
Guys don't delay. With the robotics nowadays a better outcome is easily achievable, not cheap, but how much do you value your life and getting off....

My Hospital visit (2 nights) booked for the end of this month.

I had the PSA tests then MRI which looked worrisome but then biopsy outcome was no cancer just BPH

There is considerable divergence of opinion amongst doctors about value of PSA tests they can definitely be false indicators and cause unnecessary alarm. Mine went from 3 to 11 and back down to 3 in a year.

I dont find BPH too troubling. If I microdose cialis daily I only need to wake up once to pee but of course it does complicate long flights and I do worry it will get worse and affect elections and ejaculations so I do have a June appointment with a urologist to discuss potential treatment options...I will let you know what she says is options

I echo the good wishes to all of you going through various stages of prostate cancer. I know it sounds like a cliche, but it really is a journey. Be prepared. And for me, the best preparation was facts.
I spoke to as many doctors as I could and shockingly learnt that medicine is just as much about opinion as facts. Some doctors told me to remove my prostate as quickly as possible, others said don’t worry about it and others even said that I should not bother getting tested.
Facts matter. If you want to live in a Trumpian world of alternative facts then listen to the quacks who tell you it is all a conspiracy.
But if you value your health and understand basic science then get yourself tested and critically, get a second or third opinion.

From my experiences, that has been the situation for years. If the GP thinks you need more, the he gives you a referral to a specialist (or hospital where they are free).

Yep. A doctor is not a god. He uses his education, training, experience, expertise to INTERPRET the data and give an OPINION. Always good to get others for serious decisions (in anything).

Decade+ ago, first meeting with my new GP, simple checkup, at the end he asked if I had any questions. "Only one, doctor. How long will I live?" The look on his face was priceless. Told him I was joking. As they say, Inshallah.

Young pups... First biopsy I had after a high PSA was so long ago, it was via surgery and general anesthesia. Over the following decades, peak of 11, with several "needle" biopsies (so much better than general). All clear. Like Abracadabra, finished with fluctuations between 6-7. Past a certain age, PSA testing no longer recommended given its uncertainty.

Like I posted above, urologist said to call if I had any problems, but yearly visits no longer indicated. Most probably something else will kill me before any slow growing prostate cancer. Up to heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, arteries now.

But living with an enalarged prostate pretty easy to live with. Getting up several times a night offset by an afternoon nap. If you want terrible, try passing something solid via the urethra... kidney stones, blood clots... Having a SLOW starting liquid urine flow seems rather trivial. YMMV.

Yep. All the pamphlets about prostate cancer and the other perils of being 60+ say "you might have to adjust your concept of what sex means" and i think they had exactly what you said in mind.

That's why I go to renwick so often now...if I can't reliably fuck a girl up the arse for an hour then let them fuck my arse instead...its still a laugh and better than sitting indoors watching sky news

When the options are given out inquire about penile injections. It works and with a little tweaking you can end up with a serious weapon🚀🚀

Just had prostate biopsy done on Thursday. The procedure was only about 30min, fairly quick. At this stage was more a precaution thing. It wasn’t very painful at all. Had a slight sting having a piss as they put a camera down stork to look at my bladder and a bit discomfort in the gooch area. The only thing is when you blow your load it will be bloody for a while till it clears. So if you’re going for a punt let your WL or ML know not worry about the bloody cum or they’ll get scary surprise.

98% of ML or WL have no idea about prostate, what it does, where it is, and how to feel it up, etc....

I'm 4 weeks past, PSA next week. but still trying to the get effects of the pelvic floor exercises... yeah, pissing me off a bit.

Fortunately for me the "iffy". bits that showed from MRI turned out only to be adhesions ( whatever the fuck that is). So avoided any surgery but on pills to help with pissing. Could've had surgery to alleviate that but opted not to. Ok with Urologist.
