But all in all, when it comes to the safety of women and girls and also boys the responsibility lies with the men. And in this case at the end of the day Asian men can only blame themselves for failing to protect and prevent a phenomenon that's been happening for years. That's also why white people don't try to play up like this in Dubai or anywhere in the Arab/middle easterner world. You never ever hear of an Arab/middle easterner woman or girl getting murdered by a white male.
But in saying so, i also completely understand why Asian societies are so permissive. And it really ties into the fact of this event of the murder. Has anybody and why hasn't anybody on this forum asked where are the parents to this girl? The issue with Asian societies right now is that they only very recently left but for the most part are still living in poverty. And i can say the generation of Asians they grew up without capacity back when their country was dirt poor are still alive and that they need their children to PROVIDE for THEM. Asians basically, unlike Arabs, don't have family backing despite common stereotypes of collectivist generalisations, and whites can and will cause a ruckus because the have a safety net to fall back on if things don't work out (their boomer parents, or if they're boomers they're already rich).
But from another perspective, i applaud, commend, praise and give my respects and admirations to anybody who engage in sex work. I believe it is one of the greatest gifts to society, and nobody can blame the girl in this story for that.
So who would i personally blame in this story? The perpetrator? No, do you blame the predator for killing and feeding on the prey? The parents? No, they are victims of history. This is an ongoing symptom of a bigger problem and that is the leftover impacts of 16th to 19th century imperial conquest, driven by capitalism. The girl needs to engage in sex work so she can earn money to support a livelihood, humans can just grow their own food and build their own shelter through shared knowledge through communities. Unfortunately the capitalists turned everything into a profit generating commodity leaving people in a state of destitution. And capitalism is perpetrated by the white civilization.
This is a terribly sad case at any perspective. My thoughts and prayers do go out to the parents and family.
As much as I would hope that the evidence will reveal the truth, and judgement given accordingly and justly, there is too much media and international relations that may affect the course of whatever Thailand's agreed justice system. If determined guilty (yes I'm not going to jump to conclusion with the evidence presented thus far), I do hope that it's life in prison, the death penalty seems too easy of way out.
(Disclaimer, I don't think any justice system is perfect, but it is what we have right now).
