In some ways the Sydney sex scene is a lot like the supermarket scene.
Some of the top tier brothels operate like sex supermarkets; just like Woolies and Coles they have plenty of variety and options, make good profits, enjoy lots of foot traffic, stay open all day, have long queues, plenty of glitter & bling, and most importantly an endless supply of needy, thirsty, desperate, and hungry punters lining up.
The mid tier brothels and RnTs are more like Aldi and IGA, the prices are decent but the variety and quality lacks and doesn't rival the top tier joints. They're usually smaller in size and scattered in and around the larger supermarkets; and while they have the essentials at good price they lack the bling and pizzazz of the premium shops.
Then you have the lower end no frills massage joints and grotty RnTs, which operate much like the smaller convenience shops. Conveniently located in dodgy and questionable suburbs, they offer a limited range of products, prices are rock bottom cheap, quality control? sometimes nasty and sometimes a diamond in the rough....the merchandise looks like it has been sitting on the shelf well past it's use-by-date but you don't exactly walk in expecting a five star shopping experience.
There's no wrong or right, it's simply a different modus operandi targeting different demographics and specific punting markets.
And then there's the punter (customer) demographics - the Brad Pitts, the Chris Hemsworth's, the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (and let's not forget the Disgusting). There’s a whole chapter I could write about that circus, but that’s a story for another day.
