It was a dreadful Root yesterday. In fact, there hasn't been a good Root all tour.

Mitchell Johnson will be playing in the next one day in Brisbane

What happens on tour, stays on tour
The Poms may get lucky when they next play in Sydney
The players can talk big if only he can back it up with his bat or the ball. Glen batted well in India but on a losing side - twice we got to 350+ and got chased down !
We were very lucky on Sunday, Finch could have gone very early and Warner was walking on 22! We could have been 2 down inside 30! And Watson had a duck, England could have been all over us!!
Maxwell should keep the mouth shut until he faces Stuart Board for a few overs !
But then again, if we were under pressure or if the game was still in the balance, Clarkey would probably make a big hundred himself instead of playing a loose shot to get out at 43!
I think either Warner or Clarke is due a big big score, may be at the GABA !!
Another dud Root. Dismissed for 1 by Brett Lee today in the PMs XI match.
England bat first , 5 for 188 after 39 overs, I think the Aussie is slightly ahead !
Great to see Clarkey is bowling and nearly got a wicket only not to be counted because more people were outside the ring !! WTF !
But he made it up by running out Bell !
It will be great to watch the run chase tonight over dinner !
Go Aussie !
Well should be a good chase later tonight need around 300 Australia bowling and catching has not been the best today.
Shit! Top spinning Root tonight, just what I didn't want. 2 wickets already.
What a freaking game. Good on ya Faulkner! What a champ
Unbelievable finish by James Faulkner !! What a Champ !!
And he didn't even get a game over 5 tests !
What an amazing innings by Faulkner. And by no means a fluke........as has done it before. The top order should have done the job though.
Looking back, when I started this thread back at the first test at Trend Bridge after we lost the previous two Ashes and the test series in India, I think the Aussie team was in all sorts of trouble. But during the 5 tests in England, we were rebuilding and showing glimses of briliance and promises of better things to come.
Even though we lost the series 3-0, it was a lot closer than that score line suggested. If not for some really bad luck and the bloody weather, it could have easily be 2-3 or 3-2 our way!
Then come the 5-0 white wash at home. Enough said.
And now the winning form and excitement continues into the ODI's. Melbourne was great but no one could have predicted after England put on 300 and we lost Finch for a duck then Warner and Clarkey all went cheaply that we could still win this.
Certainly not when Maxwell and Haddin were both gone and on that last wicket stand of 9 for 244 needing another 57 runs to win in 6 overs !!
It was absolutely the best cricket innings I have ever seen, and I was screaming and yelling everytime the runs tick over !! My Mrs thought I was crazy or something ...........lol
And we should not underestimate the role played by McKay (2 off 9 balls) because if he fall, it was all over. and how the two boys just teamed up and refused to let their team and country down and like saying to the Poms:
Hey England, you want to win this, not a chance! and not on my watch - over my bloody dead body !!
Aussie Aussie Aussie !!
:shout::shout::shout:
Another convincing win over the Poms at the SCG !!
Always in control, never in doubt really, won by 7 wickets and 10 overs to spare - absolute dominations !!
And I am particularly impress that we did it without Johnson and McKay!.
The fielding was sensational, the silly one hand finger tip catch just above group by Clarkey and the Warner run out !
That's what cricket is all about !!
Hopefully Clarkey can win his 5th AB medal tonight and go pass Ponting !!
Go Clarkey !!
And oh, all the winning WAGs on the red carpet !!
The test Squad for South Africa looks pretty good, thankfully they dropped George Bailey. Let's hope Shaun Marsh can make the most of the test arena this time round. Have to admit that it's an odd selection since there are other batters like Marcus North / Phil Hughes who are averaging a lot better than Marsh in shield cricket.
And congratulations to Mitchell Johnson in winning the Alan Border Medal tonight, very well deserved!
Cheers
Good to see Bailey has been replaced let's hope Marsh can get the job done as he has had a few chances now.
WTF were the Australian Selectors thinking ??
Why would they send a Team B to Perth and handed England a win ?? Now the POMs has some momentum, it's gonna be a dogs fight in Adelaide !!
Resting Warner, Clarkey, Watson and Haddin in the same match is rediculous !! and what about Ryan Harris, he doesn't need a rest, if he can play for the bloody Big Bash T-20, why can't he play the One day, at least give Mitchell Johnson some back up. And Mitch, never ever shave your MO ever again !!
We have our foot on England's throat and should have won the series 5-0, why let go ?? Now we have a fight in our hands to try to get 4-1 instead of 3-2.
And that idiot George Bailey, he bloody won the toss, why didn't he batted first - to chase down 317 !! he dug his own grave and buried the whole team!!
Complacency is surely a momentum killer, if we lost in Adelaide again, then we might as well Not go to South Africa !!

I think he had his money on the poms to win!
Not only did he do as you said above he did not bowl out the two bowlers with the best figures per over on the day.
And he did nothing with the bat.
Who put Wade as no 3 he was a dead loss just ate up balls and then got out!
And Marsh at 1st slip he dropped two catches and then got a few runs and then got out!
Never give a sucker an even break is my moto! Why give the poms a sniff!
Great to see Australia won by 5 runs on the 50th over in Adelaide on Australia Day!!
We batted so poorly, 217 is not nearly enough, good captaincy from Michael Clarke, finding a way to win!
So when Ckarkey is the captain, it's Clarkey 9, Cookie nil !!
Bring on South Africa !!!
Yes it was a bad batting performance I see Watson did his usual good job and got a duck!
