It says 'This page does not exist - try searching for something else". I think this was something that Steven Miles may have tweeted but even if it was that is not an official government proclamation. There should be an official notice on a government webpage stating the effective date but I can't find one.
One thing that might change or maybe not……. I might be reading too much into it. In a legit massage shop when I am flipped over and her hand is near my groin.. And during this time when I feel her legs up and down or her back or buttocks beneath the uniform, her hand goes closer and closer to my dick . When I retreat, she also retreats. I have said sorry and she said it’s OK. This has happened at two different occasions. Could this also be because of the restrictions in Brisbane and if there is a mutual consent or something then perhaps they cannot be charged or something? Not sure. But if this is because of the law, then definitely instead of this runaround it will be an open question if one wants extras or not even in a legit shop.
I agree, this forum is well known by ML' s and WL's. In fact I have been asked about it during a massage appointment 2 weeks ago.
They probably will have to get used to it, when the 'Decrim Act' comes into effect.
I've talked to some MLs about it, and not only are many of them unaware of the upcoming changes, but also, once they know they don't seem overly enthusiastic.
The decriminalisation of what they're doing will come at a price for them:
- more and more detailed reviews,
- more pressure to provide certain services,
- open advertising with certain services,
- more competition, price drop, pressure to advertise with photos,
- the shop owners might want a slice of the 'extras' money or offer 'inclusive rates',
- more demanding customers,
and so on.
I know a few MLs who are likely to quit when some or all of the above happens.
exactly. with that same logic they will also keep their adverts off Locanto, E&B, etc etc. Take a page from the Sydney shops, it's not as if they plaster their adverts on sites like this and keep their rosters updated.
unfortunately the low brow clientele can read and even decipher our code.
I have a feeling the ones that talk in code like to talk in code because they enjoy it (the defensive ones in here at the very least). At the end of the day there will be no point in talking in code anymore and it will be cringe.
My prediction is quite a few stores who currently offer HICAPS will mysteriously drop this option as the facade of legitimacy will no longer be needed.
The legitimacy thing works both ways. As a customer you lose plausible deniability if there's no doubt about what a shop offers. I already stick to shops with discrete entrances.
No way do I want to be seen going to a legal sex shop, the legality isn't what would cause issues for me at work or at home
Just for light entertainment here is a locanto advert for a shop in Reservoir, Melbourne that offers FS for $100 for 30 minutes and often gets good reviews yet shops in other suburbs and even nearby are very expensive
https://www.locanto.com.au/melbourne...RESERVOIR.html
The plausible deniability will go out the window once these places are openly advertising to the extent that a Google search could easily reveal what kind of place it is. At the moment, even the ones advertising on Locanto don’t explicitly put options on the menu.
I suspect most places will actually try to maintain an air of legitimacy due to a not insignificant number of customers that need to maintain the facade.
I wouldn’t be shocked if they still front as a normal legit shop but once you’re in the room the options get put on the table up front rather than waiting for you to ask towards the end. some still seem very reluctant to ask to question first at the moment. I suspect this will change.
There will be places that go all in and be very open about what they are selling but I suspect some customers will avoid these places due to taboo and discretion still being a thing. in 5 years time I suspect public perception will change a bit.
The interesting thing is how some places, like Thai shops, will differentiate themselves from legit vs parlour shops. legit shop doesn’t want to deal with punters and a parlour shop probably doesn’t want to waste time on massage only bookings.
One of the biggest problems in the last few years were shops that tried to do both. By trying to be a legit shop the massage fee had to be higher. This throws off your punters as you can save 20 bucks by going to the shops that offer extras. Rarely did I find the massage at the Thai place outright better or worth the $20-30 extra.
I miss the days I could spend $90 for 90 minutes at a legit Thai massage from someone who knew what they were doing and then just going to get my extra kicks for $70 from some private Asian. $160 damage total and i got an extra 30 minutes. Now a NHJ with shop fee for 60 minutes is $180.
blame legal/minimum wage
Ok, it is now official that decriminalisation of sex work will come into effect next Thursday 01 Aug as per this notice on the WorkSafe webpage https://www.worksafe.qld.gov.au/your...es-and-workers which was apparently uploaded 2 days ago. Initially don't expect too many changes but if you visit shops that provide various extras but not FS then there is a fair chance that they will start offering that as well, most likely for an extra $50 on top of their current top extra, the ones that do offer FS now are unlikely to change much. As the market gets used to the changes then some shops will become more open in declaring what they do and don't offer, interesting times.
I think shop fees will go up or maybe go to a room hire fee
Well if it is legitimate girls will hopefully get together and rent a place to work from and be secure together too. That may eventually make prices slightly better and better service
Seeing as I was in massage room when cops turned up to the shop last year, I predict that I will be a lot less anxious visiting shops now and hearing the front door ring/knock
