I will be honest, Croatia played very well...however i knew once france survived their onslaught they will win in 2nd half. Win is win... I was at one of my clinets house. She invited her friend and she was yelling at me coz she thought france will lose... I told her relax it is very early to tell. She did give me good service when france was leading 4-1. Needless to say i did not watch last 25 mins of match...

France had a good strategy making full use of their express forwards. Counter attack. After their 1st match against Aus, pundits thought they were underwhelming letting Aus have almost equal possession etc.,
But it wasn't clear what they were planning to do! I think it became crystal clear after the Argentina match. They switched their gears, upping the counter and were going to beat ANY team!
Also I like Southgate, England manager. He's cleared any illusions of where England stands. Spelt it plainly that they are not a top 4 team even though they have finished in top 4. Some of us said the same before the Quarters.
Croatia were very unlucky in the Final but France were the best team overall in the tournament so deserve to be World Champions.

AFL results did my head in on the weekend. I normally do i few 4 leg multis comprising of 2 NRL and 2 AFL games. I went Essendon at the line/total score, missed by 9 points. All the other legs got up! Port v GWS, thinking it would be a close game, went for either team to win by less than 15.5. With 10 mins to go and Port only down by 9, i thought it would be good. I checked the cash out, paying around $200.....winning ticket was worth over $300. Decided to let it ride. GWS kick a goal and i rush back to the terminal to check the cash out - they had closed it off.....no more offers!!!
