Saturday again. Punting is poor but hopes are high. Melb Race 5 No 5 Pretty Brazen. Switch camps and go with McEvoy and Currie. Probably the way I prefer a WL also. Good luck and happy punting 😁
So, Darren Weir is under investigations !
Can he survive ?
How long would he be suspended ?
Disqualified ? Banned for life ??
His horses had won so many major group 1 races like the Cup and VRC Derby, would those results be reviewed again ?
DK Weir and Jarrod McClean both charged late today. Show cause notices issued and all runners scratched till Tuesday. As they say, the shit has just hit the fan. The horses in training are worth millions. There are hundreds of workers scratching their heads and towns built up around this empire wondering what next. I hope it is all beat up, because if it is not, the nightmare will be hard on many😑😑😑
Back to Back 10 wickets match from the Aussie quicks !!
Firstly it was Cummins, now Starc ! well done guys. Only wished that if you could have done so to the Indian team. But then again, they probably needed the kicks up the back side and 4 batsman making a century in the same match !!
Congrats guys, next up the POMS !!
So, assuming Smith will come right back in and Warner will be fit from his operation.
Who will be the starting XI in the Ashes (bar any injury )
My team will be:
Burns
Warner
Khawaja
Smith
Head
Patterson
Paine
Cummins
Starc
Hazelwood
Lyon
Thoughts ??
For those who follow the NFL..
How good was the Patriot.. And the legendary Tom Brady.. simply sensational
Talking about one man’s fall from grace becoming another man’s once in a life time gains/opportunities!
From Racing.com that Maher will be taking over DWeir’s Ballarat training facilities and many of Weir’d Group 1 horses:
The Group 1 winners formally trained by Weir are Extra Brut, Humidor, Gailo Chop, Sopressa, Voodoo Lad, Age Of Fire and Land Of Plenty.
Before acquiring Weir's horses, Maher and Eustace had only one active Group 1 winner in their stable, Aloisia.
Maher was previous best known for training a Caulfield Cup winner in Jameka- I backed that too !
How does using batteries on horses at training make any difference to the horses when they are racing with no electric incentive?
https://i.postimg.cc/5yGhnsT3/electic-horseman.jpg
In the tens of thousands of words of verbal diarrohea journalists have written on this topic, my unanswered question - the only one that matters - is something they don't think to mention. :anger:
i mean, checking for electric saddles at the races by the stewards is surely standard practice, like weighing the jockies?
The horse in the pic above is a dead giveaway. :shout:
They would put the jigger in after any checking you silly filly ...
I watch tennis on TV!
Melbourne Cup
Federer lost, very sad. I watch him when I was young, very stylish.
Prince of Penzance winning the 2015 Melbourne Cup was was the stuff of movies and fairy tales.
The 100/1 long shot horse who wins the biggest race in the nation.
The first ever female jockey to win the Melbourne Cup, Therese Payne.
The jockey's little brother with Down's Syndrome who is the strapper.
A bit of the shine has been taken off it now which is sad.
I think there is currently a movie currently in production about it so the funding for that might suddenly dry up too.
All pretty sad really.
Well the show goes on. The good horses are back and soon all will be forgotten. DK Weir has accepted he's guilt and I hope someday he returns. He can train and deep down is a fine country bloke. Whatever is said and written in the end they are just guilty, but there aim was to win. And that is a crime many of us consider every day. I hope the workers and the towns that have been built up by the success of Forest Lodge can continue to prosper and all their lives come back to some normality. Now we watch with interest as to which horses "seem" to improve or "seem" to go backwards. After yesterdays results Yogi, Nature Strip and Hawkshot all went like jets. Must be those new trainers. Lets see what the new week brings and hopefully we can all get back to punting with confidence. But I always remember what the late Perc Gàlea once said to me as a young kid at Randwick one morning. Sonny, it is only a rort if your not in it, so try to be the cocky in the tin, not the one on the outside. Good punting
Congratulations to Pat Cummins winning the AB medal! Well deserved !
And Alessia Healy won the lots in the Women’s division!!
For all you rugby league fans out there , the All Stars ⭐️ game is back on Friday night !!
And the WCC over in England between Sydney Roosters and Wigan’s on Sunday !
Robert Kraft, the owner of New England Patriots is charged for soliciting sex at a local Florida massage shop. How stupid can this guy be. Worth $6b, Billion with capital B, He can go to any private WL, yet he went to a cheap Chinese RnT shop and proposes sex.
What a strange world we live in..
OK punters I have a question for you. Who are in your opinion the greatest all-around athletes? In terms of fitness, strength and skill. I am going to start with Supercross racers. The skill category puts them way out in front for me, managing braking, gears and throttle while routinely nailing sixty foot jumps where getting it wrong would be pretty catastrophic is just next level. Strength is up there on a strength to weight ratio also. As far as fitness goes it is sort of specific to the fact that a 20 lap final is over in 28-32 minutes so they are not endurance athletes. That being said they would have put in plenty of practice laps, a 10 lap qualifier and potentially a 5 lap LCQ. What are your thoughts and why?
