Besides, (to a man), what is "a meaningful genuine relationship" with a normal lady? (not a sex worker)
I know only two ladies with whom I share great mutual trusts, one I knew from high school the other a college classmate, both are professionals who earn more than me. But are these relationships meaningful? I'm not so sure. On the one hand, I value any genuine friendship, so these are meaningful; but on the other hand both of them are married so I don't dare making any advances to them, so they may as well be male friends which would make things a lot easier.

I recall there was (is?) a long running debate in Japan about if it's possible for a man and woman to be just regular friends, and well over 2/3 thought it impossible and I kinda agree. One of the best answers I read was that "a normal guy has no interest in becoming a friend with an ugly woman, so looks and sex appeal was always an important element in this friendship, there is no such thing as regular male/female friends without consideration of sex"

Friends with benefits can happen but it is always difficult to achieve. Especially long term. I was on one quite a few years ago. She said if either of us met someone we could call it off. 3 months after no holds barred banging she returned to someone she knew from the past. Rang me. I was okay. That was our arrangement. She seemed a bit shocked. Then six weeks later she re contacted me, was keen again but I wasn’t. Zero emotion. But had moved on.

Yep, it could be denial.

But there are other selfish reasons as well for it.
Some of reasons he might not have even internalized it yet.

1. He is playing a long shot or waiting game hoping for a freebie at some point.
Some people may deny it but the thought is there at the back of their heads.
2. Earning brownie points for that great session where she gives extra attention to him.
There could also be a fantasy element hidden in all this.
3. He wants to bang her outside the shop (paid and at the comfort of his home/hotel).
He will eventually bring it up; just delaying it so that she can trust him.
4. He is afraid he will loose a perfectly good WL who knows all the right buttons to push.
By doing small favors for her, he gets an affirmation that his next session is going to be great.

Again, None of the above is a sure thing.
But the very possibility of it happening excites some people so they don't care about being played on the short run.
