Simple solution..stop those that are bumping their threads from doing it. There is nothing wrong with advertising, when its over done it becomes a deterrence.
Those that are bumping already have established client's and there is no real need for it. Threads from the offending colours for me are skipped when I read here (which I enjoy).

The updated threads definitely slowed down for around a week.
But they are slowly getting back to previous levels.
The thing is as soon as one shop does it then the others do as well to keep up.
So the truce never holds.
I think we just have to get used to it happening
As I said earlier it's a cheap and effective way for the shops to reach new customers so of course they will keep on doing it.
We have to accept the fact that they are running a business and they use this forum as a means of promoting their business and reaching new customers.
Some of us that used to write reports very regularly slowed down because of other punters making suggestions that they are fabricated or because of personal attacks. My after reports take me a lot of time so sometimes it's easier not to write them than cop the flack. What I do like is that one of my AR's of Tiffany SF has over 3500 views.
That's another problem the site Admin has to stamp out, the cynical comments and attacks against reviewers ! Usually those who complain don't write reports themselves !Quote:

Ok, so I wrote a fairly lengthy AR on a shop all of us punters have loved to hate in the past. To top it off, it's on a Cauc shop. It copped a little flack in the Private section. I'm going to copy it across to the public section to see what type of response and views it gets.
This is test as my last 4 posts have been deleted so if this stays up more than a day then maybe ill be bothered to redo posts. What's going on - anyone else seeing their posts deleted? I assure you mine did not break any forum rules just summed up with a bit of humour the views of bros on this thread.

we have many regular clients and have been busy for all season. some time we not take phone call and replay message, who might get problem with us,
but we not handle it, also no one can not talk about some ones business things, i think every one try best things for work task and company.

I had a post deleted, not in this thread though. It was a couple of weeks ago in a thread calling someone a troll. Made it look like the views of all posters in that thread were unanimous (apart from the alleged troll of course :))- which wasn't the case.Quote:

Looks like another one has gone from this thread- I saw it in the 'new forum posts' on the front page but when I clicked on it, it wasn't there in the post list on the thread. I guess its a reminder that an internet forum is not a democracy :)
