It's basically toxic punting for women, and it' not that different to punters who go to sex shops, strip clubs etc. Women go to have their emotional needs met. The hosts make them feel beautiful and desired.

One interesting takeaway is that it's really not all about looks. Hosts are automatically considered to be attractive because they are marketed as such by the shops.
