I think it's hard to generalise. Some who spend their money on luxury goods demonstrate poor money management skills and will probably go on to have nothing to show for it. Others will be smart enough to save but those savings won't be very productive without any financial acumen either. Like what's the point of having $200k sitting in a bank account when you're 35 and working as a waitress.

After she graduated, she returned home with not much savings to show for but you bet with her Aussie degree and 6 years of conversational English skills and living in a western country for many years, she will get a high pay job back home and live a comfortable life, both herself and her family.

So, in your book, did she end up with nothing? Not on mine though.

And why does it need to be so extreme? A high earning WG can easily earn enough to be living the high life AFTER they've secured themselves with property and what not back home.
