    Response Time to Booking Enquiries

    I had a small window of opportunity for a 1 hour massage session today. Contacted 3 shops, all of them larger with 3+ MLs. Not a single shop answered my booking enquiry within a reasonable time.
    In the end my window evaporated, but I ended up too pissed off anyway.
    Either they are soooo busy that shops and ladies are already making enough money, and then they don't need mine, or, what is more likely, the shop owners don't give a shiny sausage about proper shop organisation. They're busy enjoying themselves at home or elsewhere, thinking about what luxury car or investment property to buy next, and don't want to be bothered with the trivialities of running their businesses efficiently.
    Unfortunately no isolated experience. Two of these shops have now been added to my list of places where I won't even bother to try anymore.
    End of rant.

    I wonder some times if you or others end up on a database of bad men because of something you do or say or just a mix up ... it might explain why you get no replies ... who knows ?

    I didn't say that I got no reply. I said that I did not get replies within a useful timeframe.

    On the other hand no one wants their session interrupted by an ml texting or doing admin.
    Some shops have receptionists. Most dont.

    Absolutely.
    But short response times and uninterrupted sessions are not mutually exclusive if the owners of large shops who are making high 6 digit figures or even 7 digits perhaps effing did something for the money they make.
    Or paid someone to do it for them.

    If a shop have 4 girls working, shop fee is $60/session and they have 4 customers per day, shop is open 366 days, then the shop owner get $361k per year. Still need to pay rent, utilities and hopefully laundry for the beds.

    We're not talking about the same shops, it will seem.
    And 300+ k is still enough to maybe move their arses a bit.

    Mate, I definitely agree with you. Replying in a timely manner does not cost anything.
    Having said that, Thai and Filipino girls are well known for not replying to text message and only reply if they need something in return
    I had one saying she does not read her messages but as soon as you mention something that is of interest to her she is all over the text messages.

    I'm not talking about texting them on their private phones.
    I'm talking about proper and concise booking enquiries via official shop phone.
    And the shops I'm talking about have hardly any MLs from the countries you mentioned.
    And to be once again clear, I'm not blaming the girls. They're put in a situation where they piss off their present customer if they do answer the phone and where they might lose their next customer if they don't.
    I'm blaming the owners who don't get involved in running their businesses and burden the MLs with what would be a receptionist's / manager's job.

    I think you have a highly misconstrued idea of how much actual profit these shops are making.

    IÂ’ve done the sums and my due diligence before buying in and for any shop that is not ripping off the workers there is no money in the budget for a full time manager/receptionist purely for handling bookings, which is why youÂ’ll find the girls looking after bookings themselves in between clients.

    Again, I'm not talking about AVERAGE shops.
    I'm talking about shops the owners of which drive Italian or German luxury cars and buy one investment property after another.
    I am quite sure they could afford to pay a few dollars for a part-time receptionist to cover peak-hours. Or maybe manage the phone themselves - instead of not giving a shit about what happens at their shops, and not even being available for customer feedback.
    Me not receiving a timely response today meant that they didn't get my $70-80 while still incurring the same overheads. I wonder how often that happens per day, per week, per month.

    Generally the money is tax free.
    Some owners will also work as masseuses
    Some owners do various other activities that earn them additional money

    2 of these 3 are not legal.

    Most shops figure out a way to get bookings in, otherwise they dont make money.
    A lot of shops are begging for customers.
    Im sure they get a lot of wasted time enquiries too.
    I move on very quickly to my next option if there is any delay.
    When they get back, i just simply say. Too late. Someone else beat you to me.

    I think you’ll find the shop doesn’t really care if you book in within the next 15mins or not. There is always going to be someone else ready to come in once a masseuse is available. The money spent on staffing the phone is not worth paying an extra person.

    Believe me it’s not as glamorous as it looks, and I can tell you those investment properties and luxury cars are not made purely off running a shop. If you believe they are then I have a bridge to sell you

    Today I was on the road. I had stuff to do in several locations. I never know how long the stuff takes, so I can't book way in advance. And even if I could, my experience is that the longer ahead you book the higher the chance they stuff it up, or sacrifice your booking for a walk-in.
    So sometimes, like today, traffic is ok, nothing takes longer than expected and I end up with a two hour window during which I might visit a shop, but I need to drive there, have the session and then get back on the road and to my next appointment.
    In this situation, I cannot sit on the roadside or in a carpark and wait fucking 30 min for a reply and another 15 for a final confirmation.
    And I can't possibly be the only one whose life doesn't align with that kind of response time.
    I've been trying to be kind and fair to shops and ladies, but I think in the future I'm also gonna use the shotgun approach: fire 4-5 booking inquiries at the same time and the first responder gets the deal and the rest can GFT.

    Let's say there is someone who owns three shops. All shops are quite popular. There are perhaps at least 10 girls at work on any given day, shops are open 12 hours per day. The girls have on average 8 clients per day, mixture of 30, 45 and 60 min bookings = $1.75 million per annum, part of which, as Bed Wrecker pointed out, won't appear on the tax return.

    If massage shops didn't make money people wouldn't run them, and you may have noticed, there are shops EVERYWHERE you look.

    Of course, on top of that, the shops could also be used to launder money from additional income sources.

    True, and I wrote that in my initial post, these people apparently don't need my money. And that's why I won't bother with them anymore.

    And believe it or not, in the year 2025 there are even AI systems that can do this kind of work: answer phone calls, respond to text enquiries, manage bookings, etc.
    Monthly cost for a decent system would be around $500, of course tax deductible. Don't tell me the top shops in Brisbane can't afford this.

    I've been getting fuck all responses this week. When I do it's 5 hours later.

    Usually school holidays is dead as fuck for chains as well.

    Yes I agree with Mr Nice. Yesterday I was trying 4 seasons Relaxation Massage. They took over an hour to get back to me and then another 30 mins by that time I gave up and went to another shop who got back to me in 5 mins.

    here's possibly a novel idea if your window of opportunity is so tight, ring them and not message. Instant response and then you can move on.
