[QUOTE=4FoW2;3073301]Firstly, I believe, change will be gradual. I think some people think on the 1st of August the world will change, it will not.
I'm thinking that with the law change more "ladies" will consider this as a short time career, more "overseers" will be drawn to the money making potential and thus an increase in numbers of ladies and venues, I agree with Trip19.
This all leads to more competition, which should lead to price reduction and service quality increased. I'd say give it 15 years and we will have a similar market, although smaller due to Bris population, akin with Sydney.

Anyway, give it 30 years and we will have Ai, holograms or personal robots to tend to our needs - can you imagine .............

About the working party, Minister and new legislation
My understanding is that the Government should contact all shops including mine

Why would the government contact someone who is running a so called legitimate massage shop ?

Yes, a strange attitude to expect the Government to contact legitimate massage shop owners. In terms on my experience since August 1. Nothing has changed. The massage lady I saw shrugged her shoulders and said nothing will change for her.

Part of the Stake Holders Minsterial Approach
Is to Educate all in this business a common approach

Educating owners of any business is and has been always a policy of Governments

Do you understand key Stake Holders in business regarding the new legislation were involved

The new laws are now in the favor of the ML not the owner of shop as it was . Now the ladies can complain to work place health and safety and not be affaid to report things .

Will big fines for owners who do treat mls ok example over work no breaks under pay asking to do things they do want do . Time will tell

All fees paid by brothel licensees and approved managers will be refunded on a pro rata basis calculated from 9 May 2024, with fees paid after that date refunded in full.

Now let's see if the brothels pass on that cost savings to the customers. Doubt they will but hopefully some new competition can come in and give better prices.

That’s my whole point . Why would the government need to contact you? Surely you weren’t in the “sex industry “ and running an illegal brothel before Aug 1 and the government knew you were doing that ?

I'm not too sure that the new legislation is all in favour of MLs.
Shop owners can now advertise inclusive rates for services previously known as 'extras'. This would almost certainly reduce the MLs' share and income.
It could also mean that MLs might now have to deliver services that previously were offered on an individual basis at their sole discretion.
Most MLs I discussed the legislative change with were not overly enthusiastic about it.

Anyone seen any new style ads yet. Should be along the style of Sydney ads. Eg Sydney Baby Massage, where they show a faceless picture of the girls and details of expectations. Looking forward to it

I don't really know what the Sydney scene is. Are there any establishments there that have multiple shops? Maybe our best hope is one of them decides to expand north of the border.

Not sure whether the shops will be explicitly listing what services are included.

Massage shops arent turning into brothels.
Girls will still have the freedom to decide services based on customers.
Shops that force services on girls will lose them.

I agree with WKT. Massage Shops won't be doing this. It would attract all the wrong kind of attention, potentially piss of neighbours and staff would leave.

I've scoured Locanto in the last 2 days and hardly anything has changed yet and no one has mentioned that the law has changed. Natural Massage at 627 Logan Rd, Greenslopes is offering 30 mins massage with HE for $70 and FS for $120 (No idea what it's like) and is the only one openly stating FS. There does seem to be several independents advertising now and their adverts are generally more explicit.

By the looks of it, it's probably more like within the next 6 days...
