Are you serious or taking the piss? You picked up her phone. It's common courtesy to say thank you and smiling is also common particularly when some stranger has just helped you out. I honestly don't see what else you could read into this interaction. Did she turn around and give you a second glance as she walked away? If so then she was at least curious. In any instance if you do track her down you will probably seem like a stalker whether you like it or not.
