an alleged attempted rape and murder at a FV massage parlour
According to the CM:
A man charged with attempted murder and attempted rape at a Fortitude Valley massage parlour early on Tuesday has appeared in court.
Emergency services were initially called around 3am following reports of a woman being stabbed.
Police will allege John Ikundu Karanja, 30, was getting a massage at a parlour when he pulled a knife and attacked his masseuse - a 35-year-old woman.
The woman ran onto the street and was found by paramedics with a stab wound to her neck outside a nearby convenience store. She was taken to hospital in a non-life threatening condition.
Karanja, from Kedron, faced Brisbane Magistrates’ Court charged with one count each of attempted murder, attempted rape, sexual assault whilst armed/in company, grievous bodily harm, and acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm or transmit serious disease.
A worker at a nearby convenience store said he had been confronted by the alleged victim early on Tuesday morning.
Shanis Asphak said the woman had a bleeding neck and was holding a knife while banging on the front door of the Ezymart where he works.
Mr Asphak said she said someone had attacked her.
“Got her in, she was bleeding really badly, and she had a knife in her hand and I don’t know how she got that,” Mr Asphak said.
“So we made her sit, gave her some tissues to hold the bleeding and I called the cops and they were here in two minutes.”
