I think there's much more of a security risk in Facebook, Instagram, etc. Nobody needs to know where I am or what I'm doing, eating, seeing, etc. Even browser history... Google tracking... But I find the comm apps, WeChat, Line, WhatsApp invaluable (and CHEAP) for staying in contact with friends while traveling. But hey, I'm noise, NOTHING more.

You might have a point though. With Trump's election, "America First", and Australia not that far from the "Greater China sea", increased scrutiny of potential citizens might be an issue... And China has operational submarines

The alternative is just to call the shop, ask when she's working, and go see yourself, risking public security cameras and facial recognition.

Or, if you're adept at clearing browser history, you might check out yowser's posts, especially the most recent one (yes, I could just provide the direct link, but I'm not that sure about the security implications of Dropbox links..., so proceed at your own risk).
