The simple version is: 16 is the general age of sexual consent, but 18 is the age that matters for commercial sexual services. In Queensland, a person under 18 is not an adult for the purposes of sex work, and under s 217A of the Criminal Code, obtaining commercial sexual services from someone under 18 is a criminal offence. So if she was 17, the fact that she offered first does not make it legal for an adult to accept or pay for the offer.
No errors mate.

Both are completely different.

16 is the legal age to offer sexual services in Qld. IF YOU ARE 16 LEGALLY YOU MAY OFFER SEXUAL SERVICES TO ANYONE Over 16 as long as several important laws are met mainly being no cohesion, pressure or sexual servitude or to repay a debt are amongst several conditions.

If you are 18 or over you MUST NOT SOLICITE SEX FROM ANYONE UNDER AGE OF 18.

Guess you should really brush up on what is legal in Qld.

Here is some help just for any one curious.

You can actually search in the Qld legislation under this exact laws on prostitution or go to legal aid Qld will tell you with out actually searching the Qld legislation website that is absolutely hard to find this exact piece of legislation changed in 2024.
