The problem with english is that all rules have exceptions!
Anyway some common usage is shown below.
"a"
- Used to mention a single noun: This punter is a dickhead.
 - When referring to something for the first time: A punter with a small cock and a big ego.

"the"
- Refer to something specific: The punter is bald.
 - When referring to something/someone: PunterX is the smelliest man in the brothel right now.

"a" vs "the"
- the punter -> refers to a specific punter, usually
 - a punter -> refers to any punter

comma
- Used to pause, or break up a sentence, See what I just did.
 - Also used to form lists. I like DATY, BBBJ, and FS.

;
This is used to separate items in a list when some items are multiple words: cock; pussy; ass; big tits; small tits.
If all the items were single words you could just use a comma: cock, pussy, ass, tits.
' and "
You can use either of the quotation marks, it doesn't really matter unless you are a programmer.
The WL said "fuck me long time honey", and I responded with "you bet, can I toss your Thai beef salad ?"
If you open a quote with one type of mark you should also close with it, eg.: 'this is bad"; "so is this'; "but this is good"; 'and so is this'.
You can mix quotes if you want, eg.: The ML was telling me "That punter asked me for CIM and when I said no he said 'I will give you $20 extra' do you believe he expected it for only $20 ?", she seemed quite suprised about it.
eg.
No need to put a full stop after the 'e' these days (e.g.), this is good enough eg.
Note modern usage is usually to omit characters that seem redundant.
etc.
Since "etc" is an abbreviation for 'et cetera' you follow it with a full stop.
The ML had all the right bits: pussy, tits, etc.
Note you do not need a double full stop if "etc" is at the end of a sentence, etc.. (Looks bad anyway)
Let me know if you need an oral exam
