That was my initial response to this thread as I agreed with the sentiment, and ignored the language.
However now that I re-read the post with the benefit of knowing that Hu6e is a smart-arse-dumb-fuck I see he has perfectly summarised himself, LOL!

The idea we in this day and age should waste precious education time and resources on religious instruction infuriates me. If you want to learn about your religion, sign up for a religious education institution or attend your place of worship, public school should be secular.
Anyhow, one day without consulting me the school took her from ethics to a Hillsong sponsored play about Baby Jesus. I was furious. Now Little Princess decided long ago the whole religion thing was a bit of bullshit without any help from me. She described it as being like "the tooth fairy for adults ". I was not worried about them converting her, just the audacity they had to try it on. Had they taken a Catholic kid and made them sit through a lecture by Christopher Hitchens (may he rest in peace) on exactly how we know so much of the bible is bullshit and there would have been a lynching.

So short answer, people don't like you messing with their ignorance and prejudices. Fuck em, yeah you're being ostracised because of it but perhaps it has made just one of them think. If that's the case, if just one alters their behaviour because of it and maybe tones down the racism, homophobia etc then it's worth it...
Absolutely, public schools should be 100% secular, if people want a religious education, there are plenty of churches, mosques, temples, etc around for them to send their kids for proper religious classes.

And our govt should stop spending public funds on religious schools. Instead those funds could be better used to improve the infrastructure, facilities, course materials and even public teachers salaries in our public schools. But that would be too logical an ask for our govt

Mate you're in your 30s. You should know better than to discuss politics and religion.

I'm willing to bet those guys are all closet homos since they seem to be a little too vocal about their opinions. That's usually the case anyway. Suppressed homosexuality manifests itself into angry outbursts.

I'd look for another job if I were you. No point working in such a toxic environment.

I'll get back to ya'll now...
Targayayuka, that's the exact gif I thought of when I wrote this thread.
Nejums, I see your point. But it shits me how 2 faced they are. When a big money Asian investor comes by, they are all smiles and friendly. I am nice to everyone, from the cleaner to the owner of the building. It's a well paid job, with no university or trade qualification. I make more than tradesmen.
studsg, yes I totally agree. State and religion should be separate.
CunningLinguist, the wisest words that have ever been spoken in this forum were "never argue with a fool". I'm going to take that advice in respect to everything you ever say.
studsg, thanks mate. It's good to be supported, and not told to ignore it.
Shoryureppa, I regret nothing. You may not agree with the terminology, but that's how these cretins speak. Every second word is cunt or fuck or fucking cunt.
asiafever, your daughter is a smart kid. And you are right on the money, i agree with you on everything.
    bigeasy, ok, no worries then.
The Speechwriter, you are a smart person.
quackm2002, yeah, you are also right. My blind belief that I am simply right, is just as arrogant as their attitudes. And there will never be a middle ground. Sunni and Shia muslims are a prime example. Protestants and Catholics in Ireland, I am sure there are many more examples throughout history.

So, like, I rock along to see the latest MI movie and before it I saw a trailer for a new movie called "Crazy Rich Asians."

    Two points:

Firstly, good to see some asian glamours up on the big screen in a suburban multiplex. Not just on a video rack in Chinatown. Short of the very occasional appearance of Michelle Yeoh (I think I last saw her in Ridley Scott's Prometheus) or Joan Chen you just never see them in a general release film. And that was a while ago and both of them are getting on now.

Secondly, why does "Asians" have to be referenced at all in the title? It makes me cringe on behalf of fellow whites that the movie producers think we need to be carefully forewarned before forking over ticket money. The movie is about crazy rich people doing crazy rich things, with no doubt some specific cultural humour thrown in for Christ's sake.

You'd never have a movie title called "Crazy Rich Whites" or "Crazy Rich Blacks." They might just get away with "Crazy Rich Africa-American People of Colour" if they could fit it all on the ***king screen that is. If those examples seem stupid to you, what they have dished up with this movie's title is just as stupid.

A few months ago, over lunch, the issue of the recent legalization of gay marriage came up. Everyone around the table said it was abhorrent, a travisty on our nation. and would ultimately lead to underage marriage and rampant paedophilia. Everyone except me was Catholic. Highly devout. I am a militant atheist. I laughed at them all, saying they should stop listening to talkback radio, and proceeded to provide actual facts of countries where legalization occurred and the moral fiber did not cease to exist. And I kinda told them all to fuck off and stop being so ridiculous. If they want to talk to their sky friend, then that is ok, just dont let your beliefs affect my, or anyone else's way of life. Extremely displeased faces grimaced at me. They seemed to be the sort of people with whom an intellectual challenge was a sign of weakness. "Ah fuck off ya gay cunt". Nice.

After this, the demeanor and attitude became, and has become quite toxic. Other people of Asian descent are all labelled as "fucking Chinese". At a recent bbq, some Chinese (with a limited grasp of English), were told "it's ok, come eat, it's not dog! We dont eat dog in Australia!" I swiftly replied "what the fuck man? you cant say that shit you fucking racist cunt!". I was hella burning. Just a few examples of the shitty attitudes I encounter, and find myself defending other races. I could write a book, but just wanted to give a few examples.

Am I being too precious? Or is this type of rhetoric archaic, and provides nothing but negativity to our society?

Or is this too deep for a forum about sexing??
The hypocrisy of perceived moral superiority ...

Uses group identities or labels (white, arab and catholic) to try and demonstrate shortcomings and inferiority ...
The natural way that statement was constructed shows that there is an element of your subconscious that is actually discriminative.
Believe it or not, there are many others that aren't white, straight or catholic who didn't support the same sex marriage plebiscite.
Sometimes its not always what you say that speaks volumes, its how its said and the motives behind it.

You dismiss and downplay their expressed morals as something of the quality of talkback radio and their beliefs in a sky friend. Who are you to do that?
Just another righteous cunt on this forum that is paying for a root or the odd post massage wristy?
<sarcasm>Of course you can cast judgement with a clear conscience, especially if you have a "significant other".</sarcasm>

The idiots cracked a joke about eating dog ... When I was working in South Korea and in Vietnam, finding dog on the menu wasn't a hard task at all.
So the fact that eating dog is somewhat offensive to you when its rooted in actual fact, whether you eat it or not, is a sign of virtue signalling.
To quote Ben Shapiro, "facts don't care about your feelings" ...

    You call yourself a militant atheist like it is some badge of honour, so its pretty safe to assume you'd fit in well in the ranks of ANTIFA;
The bulk of which are largely too stupid to understand why its morally wrong to get "militant" against those they don't ideologically or philosophically agree with.

This world needs to harden the fuck up and get on with it.
What happened to whatever doesn't kill me, makes me stronger?
No every cunt is looking for a reason to be offended ...

I get it now, the title has a history in a book that was written. You wouldn't want to change the brand for the movie. But that only takes us back one step - the book was called by that title.

To sum up therefore, commercially it is the best title to have (I reluctantly concede) but I'm right about being disappointed that it has to be this way, at least for the present. Yes, it would be good to get more Chinese / Japanese movies into the mainstream screens and so this could be a start. Comedies especially! You know, like the King of Mahjong Yes, it is the asian ladies I want look at on the big screen - that is an entertainment in itself.

This has just made me recall that a young Joan Chen had to play the daughter of a Native American chieftain in a Steven Seagal film. I suppose close enough was good enough. Not!

My 2 cents is why bother to read too much into a movie ?

It's a movie based on a story of the name, using cultural angles as context to entertain its audience. If its enjoyable and entertaining... awesome, enjoy it, that's it.

I mean there are online forums debating why superman is cast as a white dude and why not black. I mean seriously, I just enjoy the story, da comic, the movie... are we in da era of trying to be overly politically correct ?

Ideally this type of behaviour shouldn't exist in this day and age but it does. You could have used another method to show your disposition to the topic by either changing the topic or not making a comment.

As they are your colleagues and they would have assumed anything said at lunch wouldn't be judged upon, also to change someone's mind you shouldn't be insulting them when one feels insulted it's an endless cycle of insults.

Crazy Rich Honkies is much better! (I think the movie is set there.)

A black Superman? That would be pretty cool. Not such a big leap either, there has been a black Iron Man for years.

I'm not PC, I laugh at the likes of Mahatma Cote. (I wish he was still advertising "Sydney City Toyota!") It was just my gut reaction to the trailer. I guess I'll have to go see it now and review.

They're not honkies, they're Singaporean. Judging by the trailer I think it's set in New York/ Singapore. Ordinary chick meets guy at uni.

Turns out his family are the richest property developers in Singapore, hence the title Crazy Rich Asians. family don't approve of girl. Blah blah blah.. bet there will be heaps of Asian stereotype jokes ... Yawn. I might stream it on Netflix though.

Redneck racist crackers are repulsive ... but so are preachy liberals taking the high moral ground.
