When the time comes, literally take the punt. It will be nerve wracking making the booking, and also going in for the session. You've done all the research and preparation you can, but nothing will prepare you for the real deal. You will have to dive in and experience it. If it goes well then great. If it doesn't then learn from it and next time will be better. You're doing something not many people do, so be proud of that.

Following from that, the first experiences may be awkward, so expect to go a few times to get into the rhythm. Even go slowly at first to dip your toes in. Do the most basic things first to get the hang of it. Go to the same shop (if it's good) so you can build on your experiences.
