I went down a rabbit hole on youtube on scam baiting for a few months, some good content listening to indian scammers have a meltdown. It got to a point where I called service NSW to link ATO to my account, the guy on the phone was indian, and when he asked me for a bit of info, I thought to myself .... Is this guy a scammer, even though I called him..wild...
Yeh there are alot of scam telemarkets from India. That's because they already have infrastructure built there. I worked for a company that has engineers and customer care in India and Philippines. Basically these guys apply for legit jobs in a call centre and they work for a BPO that gains contract from overseas companies. Mainly Aust. US. UK. Some of these guys end up working for Amex campaigns or comm bank etc and some end up scamming. It's a strange thing to realise that they do whatever job they are assigned by their company

Yeah, crime pays, we know scammers took 2.7 billion from Aussies in 2023. So we can laugh about them here, but they're making great money, and their bosses even more.
It's also low risk for them, local authorities don't really care if bribes are paid, and really, which indian cop is caring about poor old Reginald from rural WA who lost his pension to a scammer.
Ive had a 100% success rate with middle eastern countries.
