A few years ago, my married mate with three kids under 15 and assets of about $5m saw a divorce lawyer.
He was told if the kids stay with the wife, she will probably get 75% or more.

I’ve already helped one guy get divorced, for three years I heard him complain every day about her till I had enough and booked the solicitors appointment. After that I never heard him complain and I even advised him on his new wife. Truth. Yep I had a profound influence on his destiny.

On the topic of broken marriages, I think people need to take these divorce stories with a grain of salt. When you think about it, what type of person is going to complain about their relationships on the bloody internet (specifically punting forums, the pinnacle of mens' society)? It's definitely not going to be that happy family guy who is genuinely happy. Relationships are not easy and were never easy but what you get in return can pay off big time. Punting is easy but you never really grasp anything beyond the fleeting dream.

One guy who considering divorce might be complaining and whinging all the way through but who is to say that the woman is the only one to blame? There's always two sides to a story and the wife might actually have legitimate reasons as to why she's being a such a "bitch".

And let's be real here, most people don't have any self awareness especially guys with their big dick swinging egos. Plenty of guys are fucking dickheads and they wonder why they have issues with their wife, kids, family, friendships etc

But what do I know? I'm just a degen punter

And yes while there are a lot of Karen’s and crazy to get moms out there who’s to say the guy isn’t like an aggro aggressor when drunk or takes out their emotions and frustrations on the girl?

It’s the same moral and concept of the rough customers that go to the shops if they do that at shop where there’s chance the girl or shop will call the cops who knows what they’d try when at home

You wife's income or assets is irrelevant. You are still expected to be the one who provides financially as the man

So whatever is yours is hers.
And whatever is hers is hers.

And whatever assets she has will pass down to your kids. So its of no benefit to you
