The issue is I make an active decision not to have wechat. Call me old school and I know I'm in the minority, but I do try and uphold a level of data security and scrutiny over such applications. I'm generally a cautious approach type.

You might have a point though. With Trump's election, "America First", and Australia not that far from the "Greater China sea", increased scrutiny of potential citizens might be an issue... And China has operational submarines

The alternative is just to call the shop, ask when she's working, and go see yourself, risking public security cameras and facial recognition.
