Or perhaps it's because Asians respect their elders (though it is a bit deflating when she uses that specific word). Regardless, I don't have to gear up before entering, afraid that the schemin' Jezebel might hypnotize, mesmerize, tranquilize me with her deadly eyes, siren's voice. Common sense works for me.
Girls see me as much as an ATM as my barber does: I'm there for a service, lighten my load, shoot the shit, for the agreed upon price. I don't worry that my barber is trying to shortchange me on the back, going to ask me for extra; I respect him, he respects me. Same in any shop. And I certainly have nothing to prove as to my masculinity.
It's why I recommend one doesn't start punting until he has had some life experience, can differentiate between sex and a relationship.
Perhaps different demographics. The girls I know, she might be buying some designer bags, but it's not for her ego. It's for gifts for family, showing respect, when she goes home. Or to sell, money to be made in that. Damaging? WITHOUT a doubt. But for certain countries the sacrifices made to support family (WTF !?! No CentreLink, no free education, you have to pay for medical, pharmaceuticals?) Not a simp, not a white knight, not defending; just sayin... 20,000 baht, 6,000 RMB doesn't go too far if it's not just you... Asian FAMILY.
Like I'd say when asked why I was in-country: "Same same you, come here, make money, go home." Common bond, mutual respect. Works for me, YMMV.
