Kinda feels like we skipped the “adjust to reality” part completely.
I’m no economist, but charging more when punters have less cash is a bold play.

If you think it's bad now wait till 4-6 months from today; urea supply. which is important for making fertilizer is down alot. Farmers can't grow as much. Food will be more scarce, prices go up. Won't probably be as bad in Australia but poorer global south countries are gonna be hit hard.

I have... now I have lost 13 kg, walk/run 10km a day and have cut my caloric intake by 50%. Filled the car 3 weeks ago but never use it.

I think a lot of blokes here and on other sites are delusional and need a reality check over shop prices and the cost of extras. Costs in running businesses always go up and now they're out of control, but you expect the shop price and the cost of extras to stay the same. How long have 30 min massage sessions been $50 for? A lot of MLs don't even get any of that money because the owners keep it all to cover their costs. If the ML gets four customers for the day she has spent 12 hours in the shop and got no money. If she's lucky and each customer asks for a HJ, that's $200 for 12 hours. I can tell you that not every customer is asking for extras now with the cost of living crisis WE are all dealing with. Yes, there are MLs out there making a killing, but the majority aren't, and not all MLs are illegal, earning tax free dollars.

It’s crazy and comical I reached out to a touring provider last week and respectfully declined due to their rates.
And for the 1st time ever got a message days later saying “last night in town happy to meet your needs” no response from myself as I saved a lot of coin dropping $100 on a good old run n tug which satisfied the craving
Remember this. We as a society turned out backs on the local grocer and shopped in Coles and Woolworths for the cheap prices. In a very short time the local grocer has gone and we are now paying ridiculous prices at Coles and Woolworths because they no longer have any competition. If we don't support the small increases now we will be paying much more when there is no longer an abundance of choice.

If anything, the lesson from Coles and Woolworths is: compete on value when times are tough or get wiped out - not “charge more and hope people feel obligated to support you
The big operators like Ginza and No.5 adjust prices slightly because they actually understand how fragile demand is right now.
Then you’ve got MLs and independents cranking rates up 30–50% like theyve suddenly become luxury brands overnight.
If you’re already struggling for bookings, pricing yourself even higher is just delusional.
C & W are keeping their prices high because they no longer have competition. Use it or lose it. Accept reasonable increases from the small players so they can survive or the likes of the big providers will do exactly what C & W are doing now and in three years time we will be paying double.

Ginza & No 5 are not lowering their prices because they know how tough it is for us poor punters. They are following the C & W playbook. Price out the competition until they are gone and then jack up the prices to max their profits.

I'd beg to differ (about the ML's earning part). A girl's standard shift is 10 hours. If she stays there and does 4x 30min jobs, she would get $10-$30 from the shop with handjob almost a guarantee (depending on the shop), you're only visiting these shops and not doing extras if you're a timewasting tool, if you want massage session with no extras or can't afford extras, go to a remedial shop. The assumption is that girls get handjob minimum every job they take in these types of shops - standard price in shops nowadays for take off handjob is $80 minimum.
$10x4 + ($80x4) - on a slow day they're doing $400 tax free in cash. That's significantly more than the standard punter. If they take 8x jobs a day and even 3x punters do FS @ $150 and the rest do hand jobs, they've clocked $1k.
The average ML earns more than the average aussie on a SLOW day - I can guarantee you from the regulars I see, some of them are doing $20k-$40k per month and are still suckering guys into "taking care" of them, all the while they're earning substantially more than most aussies.
Trust your brain and not your balls guys.
Yes, some MLs do make a lot of money, but the girls I know are telling me that more shop owners are refusing to increase their prices so that punters will keep coming to their shops, but at the same time refuse to give the girls any money for the 30 min session to cover the cost of running the shop. One shop owner that I know started demanding that she gets some of the extras money the girls earn. This greed is not a one off, it is starting to happen at other shops as well.
