BAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *INHALES* AAAAAAAHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Shows how far Australia has sunk. Australia has become so boring compared to last decades that Burwood is its coolest suburb, and I would actually believe it, which is fucked up.
Question for all the newcomers to Australia (arrival less than 10yrs ago - 2016 or later). Is Burwood rly that great?
I live in Burwood btw. Been living here for many decades. I think it's the shittest, rudest, dirtiest and ugliest suburb I've ever seen in all of Sydney, rivalling the Bankstown surrounding areas in terms of how much of a dump it is. It's only saving grace are it's brand new apartment towers.

What article? I only noticed because I saw a big billboard probably put up by Burwood council rubbing it in how they're cooler than Sydney CBD and Melbourne.
I hardly visit Burwoods town centre except to buy groceries. The food in Burwood is downright uninspired and average. Why do anything in Burwood when I can get to the city in 15 minutes.

Burrwood is the Punting Capital of Australia.
The long stretch of Burrwood Road end to end from No.191 to No.14 is dotted with massage parlours.
And the side roads are not spared of them.
It's place like Burrwood that makes me feel like a Man.

Worst thing about burwood are the residents

Have blown a few loads at various shops around there over the years, even pumped a few Asian grannys

Anyone who thinks Burwood is anywhere near the coolest or shittiest suburb in Sydney (let alone Australia) has led a very sheltered and privileged life and needs to get out more.
It does have some good restaurants though (Linq is probably too ‘Australian’ to appreciate a good succulent Chinese meal).

I think Burwood Chinatown has definitely given the suburb more vibe and liveliness, it has definitely attracted more people and is a good spot whether it is the coolest spot depends on your age and your preferences e.g young 20 year olds will enjoy Burwood and older guys may like inner west/city pubs and bars.
In terms of punting though it is a shit hole compared to how many joints are on the main strip haha.
Ada or one of the well known operators should take over a shop or 2.

Chinatown in Burwood is a commercialised location. Burwood is only attractive to tourists, people from between west/south of Burwood, overseas people. People who lives in or between north/east of Burwood don't go to Burwood to hang out except to do their groceries and ticking off their administrative tasks. Historically, even before cars were introduced, Burwood was always just a pit stop suburb. it's designed, even today, to cater to people passing through/non-residents
I think one of the mid North Coast towns are the best, like Byron Bay but not Byron Bay if you know what I mean.
Even newtown is better than burwood and newtown is not the best place
