Wives/partners will only catch you when you drop your guard and become complacent. Also, when you develop a regular routine like going to the same shop on the same day every week or parking your car at the same spot.

From all the stories I've heard over the last 30 years, a handful of men got caught when their wives' friends saw them walking near a massage/brothel shop. Then the wife gets a call saying "I saw your husband near Westfield Parramatta this afternoon. He didn't notice me. But I thought he hates going to shopping malls."

Another man I worked with got caught when his wife discovered carpet fluff stuck to his socks. He had a regular fling with a co-worker, and he used to go to her place (carpet on the floor).

In addition to the comments above about apps and browsers, always delete your browser history when you finish browsing any websites.

As for accidentally coming across your favourite WL/ML at the shops while you have your wife with you, simply don't make eye contact, nod or smile. WL/ML themselves do not wish to be identified or be associated with their customers outside work.

I've left the best till last: I know a man who forgot to wear his Apple Watch to work. His wife got home before him and saw it. She decided to scroll through it and an expensive divorce (he lost 75% of everything) ended that marriage.

Apple Watches are very dangerous.... they sync with your iPhone, Mac, iPad, etc.

You probably heard of the Indian wife on a flight with her husband to a holiday destination. He fell asleep, she unlocked his iPhone using his sleeping face. That too ended up badly. I think the newspaper article is still online.

Not only Apple devices. If you have an Android tablet at home and use it with the same Google account as on your phone, any reminders and appointments you create on either device will flash up on the other when it's near the appointment time.
All your photos and videos will also sync.

My solution to this problem is I use my own "code" when I need to save a reminder for punting or any rendezvous that the SO might not approve of. Something like "appointment with accountant" instead of "Ginza booking for Coco", for example.

I also do the same thing with contacts of girls including WLs/MLs/hookups/shops. I put their real names (ie the names that I'll actually call them by) but I make it look like a work contact or a harmless business and add a "prefix" to obfuscate it. This way I don't have to remember who it is on that contact, yet nobody will know who it really is except me.

Really bad idea to have a burner phone. That's a physical object that you're gonna have to hide. She only has to see the existence of it to know that something's up.

Not to mention the moment you whip out 2 phones in public everybody's going to assume the worst about you. Might as well tattoo "cheater" on your forehead, lollll...

i found out about the whole thing years later because he was going to use a prepaid phone overseas and i asked him if he knew how to use a prepaid phone and my mother answered 'yes, he does!' in a slightly spicy way.

good advice, I didn't know wechat isn't based on your phone number. so if you get a message, but have turned off notifications, it isn't visible? My issue is with the unsolicited texts from shops like "new girl today " etc

they don't send unsolicited messages, they know their business.

if you turn notifications off for any app you don't get any notifications from that app. you have to go in to the app to see new messages.

logging out is a good idea. if she finds the app on your phone you can claim you set it up for work, never used it and forgot the password.

Google messages app provides the same. Probably worth setting shop numbers as while the others have said good shops won't send ads but I have on a number of occasions got messages saying the girl is running late or has to cancel and pick someone else (the worst as at the popular shops most are booked).

You can also set it so you can't see these on the lock screen notifications as well.

Use wechat just log out of it and delete the app when you go home is usually what I'd do

Samsung s25 allows me to hide apps like wechat, secondary browsers, i can easily access by typing the app name in play store.

Probably not a good idea to venture out of your way geographically for action too!
If something unforeseen happens (car troubles, traffic or a blue moon situation) your going to need a damn good reason why you were in that neck of the woods!!
