Looking back, when I started this thread back at the first test at Trend Bridge after we lost the previous two Ashes and the test series in India, I think the Aussie team was in all sorts of trouble. But during the 5 tests in England, we were rebuilding and showing glimses of briliance and promises of better things to come.

Even though we lost the series 3-0, it was a lot closer than that score line suggested. If not for some really bad luck and the bloody weather, it could have easily be 2-3 or 3-2 our way!

Then come the 5-0 white wash at home. Enough said.

And now the winning form and excitement continues into the ODI's. Melbourne was great but no one could have predicted after England put on 300 and we lost Finch for a duck then Warner and Clarkey all went cheaply that we could still win this.

Certainly not when Maxwell and Haddin were both gone and on that last wicket stand of 9 for 244 needing another 57 runs to win in 6 overs !!

It was absolutely the best cricket innings I have ever seen, and I was screaming and yelling everytime the runs tick over !! My Mrs thought I was crazy or something ...........lol

And we should not underestimate the role played by McKay (2 off 9 balls) because if he fall, it was all over. and how the two boys just teamed up and refused to let their team and country down and like saying to the Poms:

Hey England, you want to win this, not a chance! and not on my watch - over my bloody dead body !!

Aussie Aussie Aussie !!
