With Starc and Hazelwood back, the Australian Test team looks like a different team in Perth yesterday !

Then David Warner put out a batting exhibition!

If we can bat out the day and put on another 300+ runs, we can wrap up the first test in 4 days

    Go Aussie !

We just have to face the fact that australian cricket is pretty crap at the moment.
And other nations are better than us.
Even without their captain and their main fast bowler South Africa are destroying us.
Australia just doesn't have enough good cricketers.
The batting has collapsed so many times in the last few years.
The bowlers have been a bit better but have also been slugged for massive scores.
The golden era of Australian cricket is over.
We don't have the quantity of great players we have been blessed with for the last 20 years.

By this time the bowling attack should of had Pattinson and Cummings that were being groomed to be the strike bowlers to join forces with Starc and Hazelwood.
Mitch March has continued to fail as the allrounder.
The selectors failed to pick Maxwell for the test allrounder. He can bat, bowl and field better than M.Marsh.

Aus cant secure an opening batsmen to team up with Warner.
    S.March or Joe Burns??
Both batsmen haven't made a case for selection.

Was planning to go to a local pub for an early lunch at 12 and watch some Aussie batting, hopefully Smith and Khawaja are still there !

What was I thinking? They were all out before lunch , WTF ! another collapse !

May be we should give the one day team a go at the test level , what have we got to lose ??

    Warner
    Cameron White
    Khawaja
    Smith
    Henriques
    Maxwell
    Neville
    Starc
    Hazelwood
    Cummins

This is the worst Australian Test team ever.
I think you would have to go way back to the late 1970s when all the best talent was playing World Series Cricket and the Kim Hughes led team of the early 1980s to find an Australian Test side this bad.
But I think the current team is even worse.

    1-0 Australia !

Plenty of Aussie supporters in the stand !
Mostly guys though, wondering what other activities are on the agenda apart from the match ?

2-2 draw at the end, I didn't see the second half , well done to the Thai boys, they are deserved to have a hero's Thai worship treatments !!

The is the three points that got away, three penalties in the match!

But what worries me is that we now drawn with Japan at home, draw with a lowly ranked Thailand away! And did not score a goal (except 3 penalties) in 180 minute of football - not looking good !

I have never like our current coach, if you watch all the games that he is in charge, he always play very open, no structure and movement.
A team can play like that if they score more goal than receive such as Brazil or Argentina, but our Socceroo is not famous for scoring a lot of goal, then we should be tier on our depend and play a counter attack game.

Further more, how do you coach a national team if you have never play in the world cup yourself. You don't even experience how can you pass on to your player.

We now have every chance of missing out on the world cup.

    Good luck Socceroo.

If any one saw Thailand's first goal, one quick through ball to the unmarked winger on the right and the Aussie defence was broken into pieces !

I don't think our team as a whole gave the Thailand team the respects they deserved !

Also, I believe our forwards are in general bigger and taller , so why not much high balls into the middle ??

And why did they keep changing the team ?

Mate, That's show inexperience from the Coach and that is my point.

you got to build the team from defend and midfield. A good midfield team will win you a lot of matches

    Cheers

I don't mind if they rest some key players like Tim Cahill or the Captain and trial some new blood but only when the spot in Russia is assured!

Now the group is still wide open and so tight up the top and we need every wins we can get especially vs a weaker team such as Thailand where most team would look to trash and improve their goal difference! A draw with Thailand is as bad as a loss !

Congratulations to the Baggy Green finally winning a test after 5 loses !

Khawaja is man of the match and everybody from batsmen and bowlers have all chipped in so it's a good team efforts!

The two new guys were right there at the end probably signalling a new beginning ?

Renshaw looks the part opening, although not scoring much but survived till the end and not giving up his wicket, even willing to run out his vice captain!

Handscomb did well, 1/2 century on debut and can catch !

Not so sure why they recalled Matthew Wade who hitted a boundary on his first ball but couldn't hang around and out for 4!

On the other hand. The dropped (unfairly IMHO !) Peter Neville responded in the best possible way, playing out of his skin in a Shield match in Hobart facing 331 balls at 179 no out ! Take that Aussie selectors !

Ps. Isn't it great to see Mitchell Starc got a half century too!

Big improvement by the Aussies but still a long way to go.
Still some big weaknesses in the batting, bowlers just ok, keeper average, fielding ok but needs to be sharper.
Let's see how we go against Pakistan.
