Damn that sucks, just started a new job in that area a few weeks ago and was looking forward to making it my regular shop.
I drove pass Top Ryde 190 Massage today and looks like they have vacated the building. Which shop you knows did not make it?

That’s my go to ML joint 😫 are you talking about their new place on Pope St or the old place on Blaxland Rd?
I think possibly at least 1 in 4 shops will not re-open... Closed for close to 4 months when the possible re-opening dates being talked about.. it will be very hard for some owners to start up again.. esp those in locations where the rent is high...
Also dont think the city will have any traffic for another few months after that. No big companies will be forcing their office workers back to the CBD...
I think Top Ryde will be ok if the Pope St location is still there..
Depends on the business acumen of landlords, shopping centres learnt their lesson. I have a large construction project that im part of, developing a retail space. It has been dramatically reduced, online shopping and covid, with also an outlook that in store is dying has made this project in a major affluent area of sydney cancelled. Some of it went ahead but the majority has been wrapped up and completed. At least 100 million has been wiped off the investment. How it was before will never come back so some dopey landlords will be definatley shooting themselves in the foot. Ultimately massage shops will pop up again in a much better positions financially then they were in before.
Many of us will go online to Escorts and Babes.
its gona be hard, not many new girls available due to COVID, with the loss of revenue for shop & girls many will be doing other things
If girls don't go to home country will stay and do the same job massage parlour or brothel after lockdown, If theirs visa allow them to stay. Some will register an English school just to stay legally. Some will get married to a legally residents or Australian to stay. Some shops will close for good especially one not doing well before lockdown. We already see some having lease sign or for sale. New shop might open but if able to recruit girls. Is a worrying sign with China as we know majority of ML/WL are from China. The last 7 to 8 years the Sydney sex market is flooded by Chinese girls it use to be Thai, Singapore, Malaysia. Most of the girls I think wouldn't want to go home if they can as going home might not be able to come back to work again.
Shops located in suburbs with high density of brothels and parlours e.g. Atarmon and Burwood will be affected.
After all they are not like KFC, McDonald or Hungry Jack kids like us can go 3 or 4 times a week.
Market forces will sort this out.
While we've got dollars in our pockets ready to spend, you think the sex industry won't find a way to get those dollars? The industry will only die once punters stop wanting to pay.
I'm sure some brothels and massage parlors will close, and that others will start up to fill the gaps.
