A man has been charged after he allegedly sexually assaulted a teenage girl at Westfield shopping centre in Sydney's Bondi Junction.
Police were told a 15-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted inside Bondi Junction at 8.30pm on Friday.
Following investigations, police arrested 27-year-old Md Abdul Shadak Papon at 3.45pm on Sunday at the Bondi Junction bus stop.

Papon works at Coles and is in Australia on a student visa, according to a report from the Sydney Morning Herald.

He was taken to Waverly Police Station where he was charged with six counts of intentionally sexually touching a child 10 years old and 16 years old, grooming a child and aggravated sexual assault for a victim under 16.

He was refused bail and appeared in Waverly Local Court Yesterday, where he was again refused bail.

He will reappear in the Downing Centre Local Court on February 25.

Probably because the majority of the Indian demographic that visit Thailand for the reason of mongering mostly hail from the same apple cart. This isn't a new trend by the way; over 10 years ago myself and a mate were checking out the fishbowl talent at a BKK establishment when a group of 'Indian' blokes walked in. The group then proceeded to sit down, linked arms across each others shoulders like they were going into a scrum and thought they were killing it. Well, it cleared half the fishbowl - even saw a couple of the girls manically waving at us to pick them before they got sucked into a curry vortex for 90mins.

It's stereotypical behaviour i agree, but you can't help think that if something doesn't change, then don't expect different results.

I've worked with a younger dude here in Sydney who's well dressed, polite, and is a great guy. He's originally from India. He's said he has trouble with being judged on face value - dating apps, MP's..he's been tarred with the same stereotypical brush as his 'brothers' and so being well-presented, washed and scrubbed and politely accepting a 'yes' or 'no' from the various providers has yielded a fairly decent result for him.

And it wasn't new even 10 years ago. 20+ years ago, DXB. Indian dog packs in FL bars. They'd pick off stragglers, surrounding the girl, the alpha taking 1/2 step in, doing the talking, while the other curs leaned in and leered. Usually a bouncer would eventually come along and chase the pack away. If things were looking ugly, a Westerner would crash the line, rescuing the girl. It was never clear to me, nor, I'd guess, to the girl, if he was negotiating for himself, or would it be a Musketeers encounter (regardless, with 1 price). No girl ever complained about the intervention.

In some bars, everyone paid an entrance fee (no drink included). In others, non-members paid an entrance fee (included 1 drink), while members (membership being defined by perceived nationality) got in free. Now I know the woke members here will quickly scream "DISCRIMINATION, RACIAL DISCRIMINATION", but they'd only be 1/2 right. Wasn't race, but financial. Westerners came to drink (amongst other things), others came to gawk. Imposing an entrance fee reduced, though didn't eliminate, the lookie-lous. And for our Indian friends, no problem with entrance, a simple "He's with me", thus vouching for him, free entry. Like I say, not racial but financial. This behavior certainly continues to this day in BKK, as reported in several Stick columns I recently quoted.

Feel a bit sorry for any regular western Indian customer that follows the shop rules that crosses your path lol in case they cop some heat. Hopefully the shop receptionist actually stops any abuse they may cop lol.
