View Full Version : General talk $70 / $75 / $80 for house fee – what’s the standard now and is the extra worth it?

Been noticing more shops shifting their base rates lately – some still at $70, others sitting at $75, and a few already charging $80 just for the room (no extras included).
It’s only a $5–10 difference, but if you punt often, that adds up. More importantly – does the experience actually match the price?
Here’s my take:
If the room’s clean, the setup is proper, and the girl is attractive, friendly and knows what she’s doing – I’ve got no issue paying $80.
But if I’m walking into a dodgy room with damp towels and the girl’s got an attitude like she doesn’t wanna be there… even $70 feels like a rip.
Lately I’ve noticed more places going the $75 route – like a “safe middle ground” to not scare punters off but still bump prices.
So what are you guys seeing out there?
– Is $75 becoming the new standard for house fee?
– Do you still find good $70 places worth repeating?
– Have you had $80 sessions where the extra actually felt justified?
– Does that $5–10 make a real difference in the overall vibe?
Not talking about extras here – strictly base entry/room fee chat.

It didn't bother me, put it down to inflation indexing I guess.
Certainly agree the $80 is for places that can justify it, but plenty of good service for $75.

Have noticed this lately as well-with no improvement in performance/service levels and room quality, I just ignore the increase and pay the normal amount in cash, so far no one batted an eyelid. Perhaps they enforce this on new/walk-in customers and not regulars?

The best shops are still at $70 anyway. Noticed poppies jumped to $75 .. I find that annoying as I never have cash and the $5 means their is usually change and you inveriably say keep it, so it ends up being $10 more expensive. Can you even get $5 out of an atm .. like $305? So that $5 price increase is really $10 and turns into a $5 extra tip to the ML.

The annoying part is always the 5 dollars because 9 times out of 10 theres no fucking change.

Swede ... you mean they don't bother even trying to return it to you?

I think you guys are right — the boss might as well improve the facilities and just charge $60, $70, or $80 directly.
That whole “no change for $5” thing just makes it feel like the girl’s ripping you off.

If you're gonna charge me an extra $5–$10, at least give me something in return. The bare minimum should be:
On-site parking – don’t make me circle the block
Bath towels and disposable towels – let us choose
Drinking water – even just filtered tap or a soft drink
A shower in every room – not some shared setup down the hallway
Clean, mold-free rooms – I shouldn’t smell damp walking in
A clean toilet – no explanation needed
If you can’t even provide this, don’t expect me to pay more just because your rent is high. That’s your problem, not mine.
Same goes for girls charging high for Extras. If you're asking for top dollar, bring top service. Just being cute and saying “I’m GFE” doesn’t cut it anymore. It’s not 2015 — we’ve all seen plenty.
Slapping on a premium price doesn’t make you premium. If you want top rates, deliver top service. Simple as that.

Joyful massage is such a rip off. $100 now with no shower and difficult parking. Cant justify going to this place anymore

With Jane gone no point in paying $100 for massage at Joyfull

To me we should be comparing the charges to what you pay at a legit massage shop. I go to Jasmine Thai Massage in Kallangur for a good quality massage and get a full hour there of top quality massage with hot stones for $85 and it can be a bit arousing at times but they don't do extras even though they have the twinkling Massage and Open signs. Even at a good RNT shop where I might be charged $70 or $75 I will only get a maximum of 45 minutes of massage and the remainder is spent on extras. This is assuming that I get the full hour and as we know time is cut short on numerous occasions making the actual rate even higher. My gripe is that if the legit shop can run at a profit charging $85 with no extras then why can't the RNT do that as well? I'm assuming that the legit shop runs at a profit as they have been there for several years. In the end it's a free market economy and shops are free to charge whatever they like and will live or die by their choices so we can't really complain but can vote with our wallet and either go to somewhere cheaper or stretch out the interval between visits so the total spent doesn't go up.

Thats just taking the piss.
No shower?
West One has a shower in the room, spanking new facilities, ample parking at the shopping centre and the owner apologised for charging $80.
I can live with $80 at that shop.

I've not had any trouble getting $5 change at Poppy's or anywhere that charges $75. I usually hand over $90 and getting $15 back. No issues. Also, most banks have change machines. I go to my local NAB and pop $20 into the change machine and get 4x$5 back. Have you tried that?

No theres usually this game of "oh do you have the 5 i dont have change" and then the "ill get your change after your session". Or something along those lines.
Golden Lotus and TTN ive experienced it several times at.

I mean personally for me, running to an atm for cash for a punt is "where's the closest on the way".
I expect the place to have change if they openly expect you to pay cash.

I think if the facilities are like that, $80 is fair. Otherwise, it should be $70. I don’t know why some places that are clearly $70 level can still charge $75.

I’m happy to pay a $75 - $80 shop fee as long as the facilities and experience justify it. Clean, comfortable rooms and well-run operations are key to making the price feel fair.
Staff with the right attitude and not Prima Dona's thinking they are worth more than they are also adds to the value of a shop.
If the shop can't meet this basic criteria than they should only charge $70.
At first, no one’s gonna care about that extra $5 or $10, right? But once you start comparing shop environments and facilities, you realise some places just aren’t worth it. Like certain little shops on Logan Road — walk in through the back and you’ll see leftover rice in a cooker, half-eaten food sitting nearby, all mixed in with stale, murky air. Places like that honestly deserve to shut down.

As always, this is irrelevant if the girl is hot lol
But if they are average or worse, then yeah the surroundings matter.

I donÂ’t understand why the $5 is such an issue!! Why canÂ’t you just keep a little safe place of money to visit your favs when ever youÂ’re in the mood!! One of my special regulars often went to the bank to exchange money for $5 notes for that reason so there was no issue about change, but I believe that itÂ’s up to the punter to turn up with the correct amount of cash, we all know how much money we need to punt with!
Just my opinion

Rocket55 .. I never use cash so always get it from the ATM when I visit a shop. Will try to get an amount ending in 5 next time but don't think they go lower than $20 on ATMs?
So a $5 increase usually means $10 .. maybe given then 2 $50's so they have have to return bigger change. Feel like a cheapskate taking $5 change even when they provide it.
Most places I go seem to now be $80. As some have stated, Joyful at $100 is hard to justify now, particularly as it also is hard to get a park in the area and street parking makes it $110+ for the hour in effect.
I do like the spots with easy discreet parking where you are not circling the block or having to park right in front of the place on a busy road. Probably the best shop with parking I have come across in a while has been Capalaba Massage Centre with the parking at the back off a quiet street I did also like the old Green Tea at Salisbury where there was a busyish centre and big carpark.

If parking is discreet, there’s a rear entrance, the rooms are spacious and tidy, the toilets are clean, and there’s an in-room shower, I’m happy to pay $80 an hour.

1. 5 bucks isnt an issue until you have a shit punt and then you start thinking about everytime youve been short changed.
2. Not my job to bring the correct cash. You want 75 bucks and charge 10 bucks for card. Having change and going to get change is the cost of the venue dodging taxes (dodge them all you like, dont expect me to do all the fucking leg work).

This is why we cannot ever have a cashless society………..
Too many pissed of punters that can’t keep cash openly available.
$5 dollars was never an issue years ago!!

Im not annoyed at the insistence of cash. I love cash.
These places do 5 dollar increments on purpose because they know they'll often nab 5 bucks extra.
You want to demand cash, have the facilities to accept cash.

Fair call my friend,
All shops should have enough cash on site to cover every amount fee’s
If the room’s got a shower, plus a back door and discreet parking, I don’t mind paying an extra $10.

There are also $90-an-hour ones — I guess that just depends on the owner’s mood.
