The cost of running a motor vehicle is getting a bit heavy so I have decided to restrict my punting.
I will now use public transport if possible. preferably, tram/lightrail or train/metro
My choice of shops is now reduced, I don't want to walk more than roughly 1000 meters so a lot of places become too inconvenient.
for the last 18 months I haven't been near any place on the old bankstown line due to the new metro work, and of course even when reopenned places in some of the industrial areas and like greenacre will still be a no go.

PLace like five dock and even parramatta rd become questionable distances.

I wonder how many other punters are doing the same ?

I'll be damned if I'll be changing my transportation methodology that I've used for years. You'll have to pry my Opal card out of my cold, dead hands.

IME, traveling further just means you reach the weekly transportation cap ($50) sooner, so once hit, you're riding for free. Add buses to the preferred methodology of the OP and you can get to almost anywhere within that 1 km walking radius.
