Long time punter, short time poster. I consider myself a lone wolf at trying my punting luck. That aside, after recently watching The Gods Must Be Crazy, it made me wonder, are the Lawmarkers Must Be Crazy?

I have enjoyed a strip club and topless bar since I could pass for looking like an adult. But I gave up that scene a few years ago after feeling like I am guilty entering the club, until proven innocent exiting the club. I asked the security guard and he said it is the new norm under the Queensland law. In other words, providing "sexually explicit entertainment" (anything involving full nudity) is heavily regulated under the Liquor Act. To host a show like the ones I remember, a venue needs a specific Adult Entertainment Permit that getting a permit is too costly and the risks are too high now.

Yet, the girl can go next door to a massage parlour with no security. Due to the Queensland officially decriminalised sex work back in August 2024. She can get fully nude and provide a full service with no consequences at her own risk.

I asked a legal friend and I was informed that any Queensland business now can provide sexual services under this law, as long as they are not serving alcohol. I asked her “so technically, I could ask that waitress for a bj when ordering our coffees and the business wouldn’t get into trouble?” She just smiled. Kinda gives a new meaning to an extra shot.

I have also noticed massage signs at established brothels that now no longer need to be registered and licensed. And entering a few new massage parlours, no massage tables. I ask where is the massage table? And I get a strange look and told this is a brothel.

Massage ladies do not want to massage anymore, instead ask for extras straight up and if I refuse, massage refunded and shown the door. I jokingly said to a couple of Belgium girls the other day, what, you are not nude? Before I had a chance to say I am joking! They are fully nude… does not make it fun leading up to the TT and I certainly received a below average massage for too many pineapples.

Punters, is the game not as fun anymore since the new laws introduced, or is it game over? I understand NSW and VIC went through the same journey.

it ain't me
