It is US based website, so minor differences in occurances, but in general Clamydia seems to be the most common one around the world (unless counting HPV, some form of which most sexually active people get at some point in life).

Clamydia and Gonorrhea transmit fairly easily as they are caused by bacteria.
The good thing thus is that they can be treated with anti-biotics (apart from the anti-biotic resistant strains).
Both (same as others) can have long term helth effects unless treated.

Only about 25% of women and 50% of men get symptoms, so you can be a carrier and infect others even if you don't have symptoms.

GP's require Medicare card - assuming they do bulk bill. STD clinics you are completely anonymous. Clinics are also better at diagnosing bizarre infections as all they do is see sex related problems. i tried that, if the other GP uses the same laboratory chain, he can see all your previous result from that group of laboratory under your name and medicare number. i went to a 3rd GP that uses different brand name laboratory and he did not mention any of my "previous" bloodwork

That's vital news because do y'all know that all your Medicare card history appears in your myGov account (even if you opted out of the medical history scheme)? The medicare history appears with an item number which an investigative wife could figure out with a simple Google search. But, and this is the good news, it disappears after 3 years. I was relieved to find that. But from now on I'll go to an STI clinic if that's true about no Medicare card.
