How do you guys fund your punting adventures?

I haven't really struggled getting a punt that I could afford but the prices nowadays being kind of ridiculous. $300 for most one hour session, that's if you're lucky and get a good girl. Wondering what kind of jobs/side hustles you guys have to fund such an expensive hobby.

For myself I work at the Westpac offices as a fraud officer making a pretty decent living, enough to buy a punt every week without hurting the bank account or living wage too much.

Any insight would be interesting to see and I'm sure others would find interesting too, thanks bros.

Well, what made you think people CAN fund their punting in this ridiculously high inflation environment? Everyone is suffering the same cost of living pressures, mate.

The official inflation rate was 7.8% released a week or so ago, but that’s a very delayed figure. I expect it to top 10% in future readings. Who can continue to get the things/services they’ve been getting when their earnings have not increased at all? Nobody can.

I earn $1300 /day gross. I’d sometimes get side gigs that give me 2 - 3 more billable days per week for a few months in the year. So my average annual gross comes up to about $300k, +- $20k. I think that’s a good income, but even so, I am finding it tough. I can’t imagine anyone with average income around $100k /yr to possibly cope when all factors are included.

No sir, the sex trade industry is in for an awakening. They will be one of the first to feel the pain of reduced consumer spending, I am 100% sure of it.

My solution to the problem is I will completely cut down on punting to only 1 a fortnight maximum, and I am at the same time looking for a way out of Australia. If I find a reasonable paying job in Asia (eg Singapore), I’m outta here. Australia is a sinking ship IMO.

You’re numbers are actually a bit off. Mean income is $92,000 pa and the median (which is imho a much better gage of the real average) is around $54,000 pa.

But from older data the sex trade and drugs are almost recession proof. People will cut back on necessities before cutting down on their vices.

What will be interesting is if the “hot waitress” index proves true again. Basically there is a direct inverse correlation between the attractiveness of service staff and state of the economy. Basically the hotter the waitresses are, the more shit the economy is in

I didn’t mean that the average income in Oz was $100k, I meant people earning average $100k a year would’ve been the target market of sex shops. That cohort would now be hard pressed to be able to afford punting costs.

And I disagree with the notion that people would cut down on “necessities” before punting. If they can cut down on something by choice, that means that thing is not a necessity.

Real necessities are housing and food, for example. How do you cut down on those? Go homeless? Don’t eat?

These are the things that are inflating in price faster than anything else at the moment. No way that the sex trade can escape this unscathed,

Maybe this forum is a good gauge of how well things are going for the sex trade industry. Look at the After Reports section for Sydney.

On mobile, only 4 threads on the entire first page had a last post by a genuine punter. All other posts are last replied by shops to bump up threads.

I use rent from commercial real estate investment - mainly medical offices and professional services tenants

I get what you are saying, but you are unfortunately wrong here. There are many families having to rely on shelters and food kitchens to eat because people who smoke and drink prioritise that over buying food and even paying rent on time. Addictions of any kind are horrible and people will make absolutely shit decisions that only make sense to them.

The amount of money spent overall didn’t change much, but internally the mid range stuff fell off a cliff and was replaced by sales of the really cheap stuff. The ultra high end was pretty much stable.

So with brothels and massage parlours I reckon you will see a big increase in traffic to the cheaper shops coming from the mid tier shops with high end escorts probably staying about the same. What you won’t see is many new punters coming into the market as they won’t be able to justify the cost against other general costs of living.

While I agree with you about addictions, I personally do not see the act of paying for sex to be a real addiction. I have been punting for about 27 years now. During that time, I’ve had plenty of long periods where I simply couldn’t punt. I never felt the pain of deprivation that a true addiction would bring. I might feel pangs of need for sex, but not specifically the act of punting/paying for sex.

So I think it is a mistake to classify punting as an addiction. The real addiction is to sex, not to the act of paying for it. Which means, when pushed, most punters would just look for a cheaper way for relief.

its all about budgeting, instead of spending $30 a day on coffee and lunch, which is quite easy for an office worker, bring food from home and drink instant coffee, buy those frozen meals for $3 from Woolworths when they are on special, that alone will will keep an minimum extra $135 in your pocket,
next is to cut your weekly punting budget, from $300 to under $200
you can do massages than tip $100 for full service, thats $170
go to a cheaper brothel out of the city thats $160 an hour
there are plenty of places on Aus99 and syd99 that advertise

Wish I was earning those numbers!

Earning $1.400- $1.500 a week. Still have some spare money to punt, eating out and saving too. It’s just about what u priority.

Sydney is cheap compared to other major cities when it comes to tolls and even petrol. Some of the richest guys in the world own companies that operate toll roads. Truly sucks.

Get on a toll road because it's faster, pay the toll, then the speed is limited because they are doing works......go figure.

Somehow made a lot on crypto. Not enough for a whole house, but enough to get a rimjob from the Ginza girls every two weeks or so lol.

Otherwise, prob would be visiting cheaper places lmao. Before this I would just go to Vitality Charm every 1-2 months on my normal salary which isn't that amazing.
