Good luck BTL, i genuinely hope you can get off them and re-discover the taste of food and anything else you may occasionally consume :slobber:
All the best BTL. I have set my date and like you just going cold turkey. 20th August for me.
I agree with going straight cold turkey. I contemplated vaping to help quitting smoking but glad never went that way. I wasn't a really heavy smoker, more like 5-6 ciggies a day for almost 8 years with rare breaks.
I stopped this February. Now never have the urge anymore. What I had to do was, about 2-3 weeks into my quitting, to quell the urge I would go to a Pub/RSL and buy a smoke from someone for $2 and smoke. That reinforced my will to quit as I would hate the smell/feeling and be pissed with myself. So another couple of weeks would go by before I had to do it again. And then I didn't have to do it at all!
Buying one ciggie than a pack is better otherwise I would have wanted to finish off that pack and back to square one trying to quit.
BTL hows it going buddy???.....we're rootin for you mate (so to speak)
Moved onto vaping since cig prices became $20, too expensive a habit to continue and money literally going up in smoke.
4 years minus 8 months while i was overseas and didn't have access to nicotine vape
quit now mate....
Just 2-3 months ago, health professionals were advised to discuss tobacco alternatives with patients; vaping in particular. If i'm not mistaken new research has been published noting that vaping induces inflamed lungs. Regardless, it's a safer bet. I never got into smoking but i did and still do, chew nicotine gum religiously. 6-8 a day. Started off to compliment my ritalin addiction and now I can't function without having a nico gum. O well. Goodluck OP.
Drugs can be dangerous
Just a quick update for everyone. Today would be my 8th day of quiting, though unfortunately i had a ciggarette on my 6th day..... fuck regret it bad but that was the only one until now. Currently feeling as if relapse is imminent..... getting massive cravings left right centre fuck......
Also having trouble sleeping as of yesterday.... the sleep just seems very light almost as if i didnt sleep but i know i did? fkn hell lol....
Not for everyone.
I smoked an ounce of weed a week for quite a few years.
Volcano vape for 2 years.... it's the growth chems that fuck you. PGRs.
I became a connoisseur, a master of the decarboxylation, I can cook, vape, smoke, infuse, make dabs that look like honey..... it's one thing I am very very good at. At my best, I had a beautiful 4 chamber glass setup. I could honk a full gram of unspun green in one hit.
I miss those days....
P.S congrats Bigtitlover! You are doing great bro!! Keep on keeping on brother, before you know it, ciggies will be an afterthought.
It's a curse that wants to suck you back in. But you know it offers you nothing but poisonous crap. And makes you pay big money as well! Remember Those cravings are temporary, but the benefits of not smoking will be permanent.
Can you at least not have any fags in the house? You can't smoke if there are none there. And don't buy any for Christ's sake. It isn't a question of will power then, if there aren't any to hand, smoking becomes a physical impossibility.
It makes your arteries necrotic and buccal cavity serrated . So do not smoke.
