You can purchase condos (apartments) but not homes with land. The laws were supposed to protect Thais and prevent foreigners buying up properties which in turn would make it impossible for local Thais to own their own homes. When leaving the shop and seeing a stunner on the way out, only to book next time and find out they have left for good
