To the OP, dude, for a guy who works super hard, has five girlfriends (apologies if I’ve miscounted) on top on an acting punting life filled with foursomes and fivesomes, has an upcoming overseas holiday and no doubt needs to spend a not insignificant portion of his time deciding which of his ten cars he’ll drive out on today’s adventures, you sure spend an awful lot of time getting into flame wars with random goofballs on a punting forum.

I agree 100% this forum is about sharing intel to making punting better for the guys the girls and shops and help avoid duds and scams esp on E&B and alike regardless of a guys preference to particular shops or WL over ML etc

IP ban can create collateral damage. With mobile devices, many people would have the same IP address at or near the same spot at any given time, therefore many people could be banned too. Especially public wifi…

could you do device hardware identifiers or we getting to advanced/overkill in implementing effectivily? maybe some tool thats not used untill you can see the same multiple accounts linked to the same few devices and just ban those accounts or shadow ban them??

As I said, many unrelated accounts could be linked to the same IP. Other ways like tracking via Cookies would have privacy issues…

No one wants their devices to be tracked, too many implications…

unfortunately humans are creatures of habit and that's where he wins, easy to say to ignore him but the guy does create posts that get engagement and it snowballs from there, yea the threads do get some engagement from punters to each other but it still provides a platform for to spout his nonsence and the guy is smart because he knows he will get his engagement.

another suggestion maybe is like can you do what moderators on reddit do by locking down a post where nobody can add to it but can still see it. i reckon that would drive him more insane than banning him because him seeing that his posts can be seen but cant have the engagement he wants.

And that's my point. I find him annoying so I block. Others find him engaging, even entertaining. They respond. To each his own. Freedom comes with a price, and when one starts to censor content because (some, a lot, most) don't like, then it's no longer free.

Example: I find it annoying that some don't know what the shift key is for so post in all lowercase.:startle: Or don't understand what a "." is for. :cry:
