There's really no point in engaging in any convo with this... Evil spirit. Imagine someone possessed by an evil spirit and an exorcism is needed. You wouldn't try to reason with, be nice to, or have sympathy for the evil spirit. You'd just want to get rid of it.
Best thing to do is to identify and ignore. Look for the B word that he loves to use but is hardly used by anyone else on the forum. That's the best way to identify his next account.

could you do device hardware identifiers or we getting to advanced/overkill in implementing effectivily? maybe some tool thats not used untill you can see the same multiple accounts linked to the same few devices and just ban those accounts or shadow ban them??
As I said, many unrelated accounts could be linked to the same IP. Other ways like tracking via Cookies would have privacy issues…
No one wants their devices to be tracked, too many implications…

It's the price we pay for freedom, a free forum. As long as one stays within the rules (and very limited rules, NOT limiting rules), no problem, you can post what you want. Then when necessary, the PTB (Powers That Be) take the nuke option. Sure, cockroaches might rise again, but, again, as long as they abide by the rules, fine with me.
And a solution exists already. The Ignore List. A PERSONALIZED solution. Once anyone's tolerance is exceeded, simple to implement. Why make work for SysAdmins when you can do yourself? Just set out the roach motel, and it's tombstone city.
And, as usual, the simple solution is usually the best solution. Sure, it might take some time to identify the target, so...? If your life is THAT short, you have bigger problems than some annoying bug. Or shoot first and ignore the collateral damage...

unfortunately humans are creatures of habit and that's where he wins, easy to say to ignore him but the guy does create posts that get engagement and it snowballs from there, yea the threads do get some engagement from punters to each other but it still provides a platform for to spout his nonsence and the guy is smart because he knows he will get his engagement.
another suggestion maybe is like can you do what moderators on reddit do by locking down a post where nobody can add to it but can still see it. i reckon that would drive him more insane than banning him because him seeing that his posts can be seen but cant have the engagement he wants.

And that's my point. I find him annoying so I block. Others find him engaging, even entertaining. They respond. To each his own. Freedom comes with a price, and when one starts to censor content because (some, a lot, most) don't like, then it's no longer free.
Example: I find it annoying that some don't know what the shift key is for so post in all lowercase.Or don't understand what a "." is for.

If one is rich, successful and have WLs at your disposal (as so claimed ) would you put up with the enormous amount of criticism , humiliation , thrash etc levelled at you by just about every brother on this forum. Where's one's pride and dignity? I'm scratching my head.
