Get the executive stress tablets and have some sort of relaxation/meditation clip on YouTube or whatever ready to go and if you need to take the arvo of work or whatever fuck it will be worth it in the long run.
Go cold turkey remember one cigarette is to many and one cigarette is not enough.
I think to quit you have to really hate it.
My experience was that it's 99.9% mental. As I wasn't enjoying it any more (only having a few puffs on a ciggy & putting it out) I said to myself "when I finish this packet I'm gonna quit" and I did. Never looked back 'tho the cravings nearly got to me quite a few times...
Certainly gets better over time & I'm feling much better overall as a result...
Yea I heard that as well, as you are so used to the physical/mental habit of the routine of doing it rather than the actual smoking part. I think my problem is it's the habit part and is done to reduce boredom in those "down times" at work/home or having to wait for something or some one. I'm trying ATM to find other things to distract myself or substitute for something else rather than revert to the usual routine in those moments.
A Smoker can OUTLIVED a Non-Smoker if he exercise.
Well, mate, that's a bit of a twist, isn't it? The idea of a smoker outliving a non-smoker through exercise is like saying a kangaroo can out-dance a kookaburra.
Exercise is a ripper way to improve your health, no doubt about it. But when it comes to smoking, let's face it, it's like playing with fire. So, if you're a smoker looking to live long and prosper, consider stubbing out that ciggie and hitting the gym. And remember, in the game of life, health is the ace up your sleeve!
G'day, mate! Quitting smoking, that's a ripper of a decision, I must say. Now, I get it; having a ciggie after a punt might feel like part of the ritual, but breaking that habit is fair dinkum important.
Swap It Out: Instead of sparkin' up, keep somethin' else handy to keep your hands and mind occupied. Could be a bit of gum or maybe a nibble – whatever floats your boat. It'll help break that connection.
Keep Busy: They reckon idle hands are trouble, so stay busy with stuff that doesn't involve smokin'. Whether it's a bit of a sweat with some exercise, a hobby, or catchin' up with mates who've got your back, it'll keep your mind off the ciggies.
Lean on Mates: Don't be shy to have a yarn with your cobbers. Let 'em know you're gunning
I honestly ask myself every day how I managed it, knowing what kind of person I am :) I switched to vaping VIHO Supercharge and even if I do have the urge to smoke cigarettes, I remember why I quit. My family was very supportive during my journey, which was important. I set a firm quit date, identified triggers like stress and social situations, and replaced smoking with healthier habits like exercise. U can do it!!!!!
It's hard to cure the addiction without going from one habit/vice to another. I ended up using patches and was able to quit but I only smoked for 3 years due to life issues that were resolved
Its really weird when you see meetings of alcoholics or junkies or whatever kind of addicts they are always smoking - it's the most acceptable addiction .. but it's actually the most deadly ... brilliant marketing over many decades by the tobacco industry ... tobacco and alcohol .., certified natural born killers ... and perfectly legal and socially acceptable ... there you go ... nice ...
The best way I know of is to have a pack of gum with you at all times and whenever you feel the urge, have a piece. Has worked for myself and a few of my mates. You'll have better breath too.
