Hi there Brother Mate,
Do you still think Geelong and Storm can win the Premiership respectively ?
Or who's gonna to win it now ?
Now that the AFL season is over and one match to go in the NRL, in the current seasons , any lucky brother overall make some money in the footy ?
I had a shocking year as Queensland, Broncos and Sydney Swans are all having a shitty seasons ! Storm is doing well but lost twice in September hurted me big times !
A Storm / Richmond premiership doubles would have given me a grand and a half. Richmond / Rooster would return $500 - it’s my insurance bet, if Raiders win , it will be a total lost !
The only positive out of the few finals this weekend was that I got All the first try and first goal scorers !
Crocker from the Raiders $13, Cameron from GWS $9.00 and Cordner from Rooster $23 !
And I didn’t put them in a multi !
So, after Richmond winning its second titles in three years. The Roosters also went back to back !
It’s Cooper Cronk’s final match before retirement and he won it, that’s three in a row for him (two different clubs) and his ninth Grand Final appearance overall .
Hard to imagine the Roosters can do a three peat without Cronk though !
And with big Mal blowing the horn for the Viking Claps , wasn’t that just the most Awesome sights ever seen on a football field in this country ??
I won’t be surprised if Canberra can do a Melbourne in 2007! Losing a tight one where they should have won and come back the following year and win it !
Cheers

Rugby World Cup Final between England and South Africa : after beating the All Blacks I think England probably deserved to win the Cup.
Any Wallabies supporters here still have hard feelings towards Eddie Jones ? Like, why isn’t the Aussie coach coaching the Aussie team and would he make the difference in our Wallabies?
Melbourne cup is here .. all the tips would be highly appreciated .. 🖖🏼
There are two big factors this year which will affect heavily on the outcome of the Cup:
1. With a Soft 7 on Derby Day (currently a Soft 6 according to TAB), and more rain forecasted, how wet will be the Cup of 2019 ? the experts are saying it will improve from Saturday and at worst a Soft 5 or better. So I am assuming, the track is Not going to play a big part comes 3pm on Tuesday.
2. Can the favourite Mer de Glace ($6.50 at TAB fix odd currently) stay the two miles, the trainer could not give a definitive answer as the horse has never raced beyond 2,200 in Japan, the Caulfield Cup was the furthest he ever raced! So for that, I have done some research: as I am thinking if he can stay the two miles, he'll win !
And it will all come down to the pedigree of the horse Mer de Glace:
By Rulership out of King Kamehameha, out of KingMambo out of Mr Prospector (who was a noted sire of stayers)
Rulership and his sire and grand sire had all won up to 2,400 - King Kamehameha had also sired a winner of Tenno Sho over 3,200 metres - the Japanese equivalent of the Melbourne. Rulership is a relatively young stallion but he had also sired a Japan St Ledger winner over 3,000 metres.
But it will be on Mer de Glace's dame side where we will find more staying influences:
His dame Glacier Blue was by Sunday Silence who was a grand sire of stayers including 7 individual winners of the Tenno Sho !!
There you go I think I am fairly confident that Mer de Glace will stay the two miles and therefore, he should win !
ps. just on Sunday Silence, while he hadn't sired a Melbourne Cup winner himself, his son Dance in the Dark did - Delta Blues in 2006 ! where he quinella the race with another Japanese horse Pop Rock. And guess where did Pop Rock came from ? his dame was by none other than - Sunday Silence.
ps 2. The horse who beat Delta Blues that year in the Caulfield Cup - Tawqeet - was sired by - KingMambo - the grand sire of Mer de Glace !!
Talking about omen tips !!
And a big congratulations to Ash Barty who won the year end WTA Championship in Shenzhen last night . Apart from holding world ranking of no 1 for year end, she also won a record US$4.4 Million for her straight set victory over the defending champion!
Ash has now won more than US$10 M in 2019! Does that make her the highest paid athlete in Australia ?
Well done Ash !
Now please bring home the Fed Cup next week in Perth !
And also winning a damn fine RED Porsche Cayenne for all her troubles as finishing the year World No. 1! I wish I was a gifted athlete lol
Finally this thread has been revived! Place your bet folks!
OK, my Melbourne Cup betting strategies for 2019:
8 horse boxed.
Trifecta bet at $168.00 = 50%
First 4 at $168.00 = 10%
Good luck to us all !!
1. Cross Counter $20.00 - last year's winner, after the Cup win last year, he went to Dubai and won the World Cup (3,200M with 55kg) in March this year, he then ran 4th in the Ascot Gold Cup beaten by Stradivarius by 1.75L with 57.5 kg - so I don't think weight will be an issue. Then ran 3 behind Stradivarius again in the Goodwood Cup with 61kg by 2L over 3219M - so the form has been very consistent. last run 4th in the Irish St Ledger with 61kg. So this Melbourne Cup is actually easier for him ? Top 3 for me if you want an archor bet.
2. Mer De Glace $8.25 - Caulfield Cup winner, from my other post, I am confident that he can stay, so this is the right form horse, and you can't beat Damian Lane with he is on fire !! Top 3 chance for me !
23. Vow and Declare $12.00 - best of the locals, second in the Caulfield Cup, 52 kg is the winning weight, and don't forget after narrowly beaten by Mr Quickie in the Qld Derby, he won the Tatt's Cup 3,000 m by 3.25L with 54kg, so he is proven in the distance too.
Top 3 chance and I think he's got all the locals covered.
11. Finche $9.50 - Kerrin McEvoy and Chris Waller, winning combination every where and he had run 4th (3.5L) in the Cup last year after a 3rd in the Geelong Cup, so his form this year is much stronger.
19. Constantinople $10.00 - going with the strong recent trends of a Northern Hemisphere 3 years old with a light weight, having already had a run in the Caulfield Cup is a bonus assuring his fitness.
20. Il Paradiso $26.00 - another of the NH 3 years old, already won and placed over 3,200 - Aiden O'Brien trained .
12. Prince of Arran $16.50 - ran third in last yr's Cup with 53, after winning the Hotham and 3rd in the Herbert Power. so a quick back up seemed to be a positive for him, this year he ran along the similar path with a second in the HP then winning the Geelong Cup. There is no Marmelo this year and he meets Cross Counter 5.5kg better !
8. Mustajeer $14.50 - won the Ebor Hcp 2800m with 59.5kg which is good form for the Melbourne Cup, only 1.8L behind Mer de Glace in the Caulfield. Ollie is breaking so many records, might as well set another milestone by winning his 4th Cup !!
There you go, there are quite a few more chances but you can't tip and bet them all.
1, 2, 8, 11, 12, 19, 20, 23
May we win some TAB cash to finance our sexual punting this weeks.
Cheers
