Mate, this does happen in a select number of bars. I can give some insight into Japan as I’ve punted there numerous times before.

Prices have gone up in Yoshiwara soaplands for gaijin with all the tourism influx. You’d be paying upwards of 35,000yen for an hour in most establishments.

I think the best bang for buck is fashion health spots. There’s numerous around, particularly in Shinjuku and Shibuya. I stand corrected .... it appears SOL is closed (sadly). Got my locations mixed up after the long hiatus during the Covid years .... and as I was probably slightly (or more) inebriated as I checked the various bars out. So you are correct with your comment above.

Don't be too hasty. SOL is definitely gone. But the space... You know me, I like my searching. Followed your link and the referenced article was Last updated: April 23rd, 2024. Thus I refrained from waving the immediate BS flag. Patpong certainly not like the old days, but does seem to be making a small comeback.
